What percentage of witnesses do you think have viewed apostate web sites?

Humans are naturally curious creatures. We learn from experience better than words.

So with the internet in almost every witness home, and the society constantly harping on people to avoid it, how many do you think have at least checked it out?

Whether they agree with what they find or not is up for debate, but I'm guessing that it would be a fairly high percentage of witnesses with internet access.

    Good topic Para.

I think the fear is so ingrained, that many wouldn't dare.

I speak from my own personal experince.

And many others simply would have no interest in it.

They already know the cult is a waste of time. They go because there friends and family are in.

In my opinion, those that end up looking are those that are already doubting.

That scares me. I wonder if I'll be recognized here. DJK

    My opinion. About 80%.

And from that, most of them found some real truth about the WTS. So many of them harbor ideas about the substance of the current teachings in the form of the buzz word "current understanding". Sure, they'll go along, for now, with the general flow of the WTS because they believe many of the central core doctrines that are taught. Some being the non-Trinitarian view, no hellfire, no immortal soul, paradise on earth and/or heaven..etc.

Evidence shows that those who "HAVE" to teach topics that they now are unsure of and have no confidence in (such as 1914, seven trumpet blasts), they have no enthusiasm in their talks or presentations. Of course not. They don't believe it whole-souled.

The only ones who will preach with such fervor about certain doctrines of the WTS that are exposed on XJW sites, are the ones who haven't seen these sites or are still hard-core believers in such topics.

I'm confident to say that many JWs who viewed XJW/apostate web-sites are thinking twice about the company in the form of the WTS and the dealings of such. Such can be seen of the decline in donations.

Of course, there may be a handful of JWs who will reject all XJW/Apostate sites if they stumble upon them. But only a handful.

    Just my opinion.

Only those who managed to awake up and see that Witchtower is a CULT. So I would say not many

And let me also add this:

At my recent KMS school for appointed brothers, much time was spent on the topic of refraining from pornography. This was whether it was from the internet or rented movies. Now why would that topic even come up? BECAUSE male Jehovah's Witnesses are DOING or HAD DONE so.

It doesn't take much to realize if any JW with internet access have viewed XJW/apostate sites. Whether they keep looking at it or not, that would depend on each individual.

Percentagewise, it is hard to know. It is possible to land on one with an errant click of a computer mouse or a simple typo. Or, one could really think one little look can't possibly hurt, and check out of curiosity. Six months later, they are on JWD.

The Tower's response to the problem is to take the Internet out of the homes of Witlesses. Keep them so poor with education bans, job limitations, hours of endless service, and donations to the World Pedophile Protection Society that they cannot afford a computer. Make them unable to find time to look at the Internet. Terrorize them that if they use the Internet and make a typo, the demons are going to come out of their computer and possess them. If they all do that, there is no way they are going to land on an apostate Web site.

Of those who did look at a site, possibly 10% did so maliciously, intending to slap Jehovah in the face. (Yes, I am one of those.) Another 10% did so totally by a mistake--a bad mouse click, the screen scrolling unexpectedly just before clicking, a typo, or some other mistake where they had no intention of even opening up that site. The other 80% did so thinking one little peek won't hurt. After all, how can darkness stand up to the truth? They have the truth, so the apostate sites will stand up to be a blatant lie. Usually, they find out otherwise (that it is the Tower that is the blatant lie and the apostate site the light).

I think it's human nature to want to know more about something you are involved in. I would guess that most JW with private internet access will at some stage take a peek. I feel that the younger generation will most likely be less afraid of the WBTS warning about the net.

10 to 20 %.....How many have actually left over the last few years? This might be a good indicator.

I personally know a few that have looked at apostate website but they are as strong as they can be.

Many are just happy serving the Watchtower and enjoying the social life at the KH.

They could care less about 607/1914 and many other lies.
