I'm glad you're still with us, Snakes. Be good to yourself. Relax. Unwind.
I was 5 seconds from death today.

Glad to hear you're ok.
I was thinking just this morning that JWD needs the name or number of someone to reach in case of an extreme emergency with a poster. A poster who goes by Core88 really gave everyone a scare this past week.

glad YOU are safe.
You are a good person to stay and help out.
I drove around my city for three years as a courier and witnessed alot of wrecks. I started carrying my camara and taking pics .........I saw so many before cops were ever there.
Once while going home a van was driving exceptionally fast. Miles on down the road from the first time I saw him was construction with temp concrete walls on either side of lanes making it difficult to drive through.
Traffic was slowing, and how I got ahead of this van I dont know......but he passes me in the right lane.........I watch him and instead of slowing down to the traffic that was ahead of him, he speeded up trying to get in the left lane. He clipped the back of a pickup truck and went airborne, end of end, coming back towards us that were behind him. I was like..........eyes as huge as saucers. The van stopped crossways in the road back on its four tires!!!!!
you could not see the driver, then like a horror movie he pops up and tries to drive the van out of there, towards us!!! The man behind me yells at me ....get your car, he is going to hit you.
The van could not could anywhere........burning rubber against the wall.
I am still amazed to this day that he did not hit any cars as he was tumbling back towards us. The car in the pickup truck was very shook up........older man, transporting part for a car dealership.
We walked over to talk to him ........and I said to him, are you alright? He almost broke down in tears.
Anyway, we (some witnesses) stayed and made statements, made sure the old man was cared for.
I dont know what they did with the guy in the van. The cop seemed to be making excuses for him, like trying to drive off, saying he was disoriented. Even so, he was driving like a maniac and apparently had been for a very long stretch by another witness.
I try to tell people that you may be a skilled driver, but those around you may not be. And please make allowances for that.

glad you are OK - probably good you had something to do for a while after the accident - kept you from just sitting and shaking, I imagine. Hot tea with lots of sugar and some whiskey.

I agree with Purps, always always always drive defensively

Effervescent
Wow- Thank goodness you are ok!
My heart goes out to the occupant in the other car that was not so lucky. Drunk drivers should be shot. And I mean that. They are always the ones who walk away unscathed and leave so much devistation in their wake.

Snakes, Mr. & Mrs. Flipper here. We are so glad you are O.K. ! So many of us have had close calls before, but this one sounds to have been way, way, too close for it's own badness it caused. I lost one of my closest family friends in 1983 to a head on collision. He was almost like an uncle to me. great sense of humor, one of those rare elders who you felt comfortable around, someone fell asleep at the wheel, drifted into his lane two lane highway, hit his little Honda car. Count your lucky stars bro, great reflexes on your part, relax as others say, have wine or a shot of something, you deserve it! Peace to you my friend, glad you're still with us! Peace out, Mr. Flipper
