    I detest myspace.

I told everyone in the department I manage at work that if I catch them using 'myspace' during work hours, they're gonna be fired.

I wish all parents would monitor their kids activities on the web and refuse them access to social networks that are geered toward adults . I don't even want to see minors in public chat rooms .

My 14 going on 15 year old daughter is on it. I was very hesitant at first but it really helps her and I stay connected (she lives with her dad) so we stay in daily contact through that and on the phone. I am able to see who is leaving bulletins, comments, etc. It's an opportunity for she and I to have discussions about what's appropriate and what's not. If I see something on her comments that gets my "attention", instead of freaking out, I just ask her about it, ask her what she thinks of that kind of stuff, etc. It's like getting a daily glimpse into the life of your teenager. Things they might not share with you otherwise.

    Just my experience.

I find that I can't really let go and be myself on mypage, because my daughter and her friends might be watching.

I was bullied into opening an account by a lady on these boards.

Now that I've got it, I'm not sure exactly what I'm supposed to do with it. I'm just a middle-aged bloke with very little of interest to say.

myspace is like being in high school again. god forbid if one of your buddies aren't in your top list. it's pretty lame.

I think it's pretty cool , alot of other social networks are following the idea , such as msn and yahoo . I just don't like when kids get involved while adults are running the show and feel they really have no place on social networks talking to strange adults .

I have an account. Mostly friends and family on it that live far away. Its fun to send picture comments to them and be able to have a personal page ,made up. I keep mine set on private just because i'm there for my friends and family only not for spam and porn. If you decide to let her have her account make sure she does not put her own personal pic up....I have notice that young people get bothered alot less when they don't have a pretty face up...and deffinatly keep it private....keep all those pedifile(sorry sp) psycos away. I'd say let her add me...but my profile isn't set up for young impressionable minds to look at

My preteen has one. It's set to private, she is only allowed to have friends she knows personally and her dad and I have the password. It's a good tool for her keeping in touch with friends during the summer and now we are moving I think it will really be good for her to have.

Having my kid on it keeps me from posting things I might later regret.
