    FlyingHighNow,

I love Crimson and Clover by Tommy James and the Shondells. It's on my iPod and a few months ago I would have listed it as my fav.

Under the Bridge is also a great song. Good taste.

Ramble Tamble by CCR also makes my Top 10, maybe Top 5.... Give it a listen:

Geez, so many of them, hard to say, but shooting from the hip I'd say these resonate with me the most or at least these are the ones that come to mind first. There are probably others too but can't remember them all right now.

Sheryl Crow and Kid Rock - Picture
Jon Bon Jovi - Blaze of Glory, Wanted Dead or Alive, Bed of Roses
Garth Brooks - The Thunder Rolls
Guns N' Roses - November Rain
Creed - Six Feet from the Edge
    Billy Joel - Piano Man
    Kenny Rogers - The Gambler
Bob Seger - Like a Rock
Nickelback - If Today Was Your Last Day, Never Gonna Be Alone
Otis Taylor - Ten Million Slaves
Limp Bizkit - Behind Blue Eyes
Johnny Cash - Ghost Riders In The Sky
Linkin Park - In The End

Fortunate Son is one of the best of CCR. It always cheers me up. My brothers had one of those little backyard/garage bands and played CCR, Beatles and other songs. Fortunate Son was their best cover. That was 1969 and 70. A few Sundays ago, my grandson Julian was all bummed, so I got out my record player and put on Willie and the Poor Boys. He listened to records with us for a couple of hours. Fortunate Son turned him right around.

I am listening to Ramble Tamble. The instrumental towards the end always has been spectacular: I love the intensity and how it builds. I have almost every LP CCR did.

The reason I love this song so much is because it's beautiful and I heard Anthony Kedis tell what inspired him to write it. It's about his heroin addiction and the pain it caused him...the pain that led him there. All of us, I don't care who we are, have pain and we have addictions. Visually, this video is stunning and very moving.

I say that Under the Bridge and Crimson and Clover are co favorites because ever since Crimson and Clover hit the airwaves in 68 or 69, it's been my favorite. I remember exactly where I was when I heard it. My mother was taking my two best friends and me to our Saturday morning bowling league in Morgan City, Louisiana. It came on the radio on KMRC 1430 AM. Everyone grew instantly silent. We listened. The song had an instantaneous, moving impact on a trio of ten year old girls. When it finished we all began raving about it excitedly. We all had to have our own copies of the 45. This was a beautiful song and it was romantic to girls who were just beginning to grasp the magic of cute ten year old boys. We were all music lovers and dancers. We danced many hours to this song, no doubt. And when it was added to the jukebox at Kegler's Lanes, we dropped many dimes, letting it boom through out the two story building. Just a magical song.

    Crimson and Clover............ Perfect song.

Joan Jett tried to give it a go....... but one of those songs that can't be copied... Imagine Stairway being copied,,, I've heard some .......not pretty!

I'm a big CCR fan too. Fortunate Son is a great song. Down on the Corner is also one of my favorites.

    Darth:

So true. I had high hopes when I first heard about the Joan Jett version, but as you say, some songs just can't be copied.
