You believe the end is coming because you need it to come or you do not believe the end is coming because you do not need it to end.
Conviction ups the ante - but adds absolutely nothing to the "rightness" or "wrongness" of either belief.
Little wonder those who "hold fast" to the belief that the end is coming cannot acknowledge their need drives their belief.
