Welcome WT=watchtrouble. I used to be an elder...notice the word starts with a small "e"..... not important!
My course is very interesting so far. It will take me about two years. One thing I noticed straight away with the first basic induction that I have to learn, is how much of it sounds like a typical jw prayer!
So I agree with the doctor. When you close your eye in group prayer, you are cutting out one of your senses, so the thoughts expresses become an appeal to the sub-conscious...auto suggestion, cuts out the critical thinking factor by a degree.
Also boring repitition {every meeting} is a very important factor in having everything that is said accepted with out critical thinking again! So the WTS uses hypnotic principles all the time. Any wonder seemingly intellegent people cant think for themselves...as I used to do too!
