I just finished the book by Ray Franz, CoC, and for some reason I'm madder than ever at this organization!!!

I've been out for over 20 years and now I'm even more pissed off!!!! Why am I so angry at things I already knew although I'm sure I've just repressed them over the years and got on with my life, anyone else have this anger problem after reading this book, or is it just me??

Also, any suggestions on what I should read next?? Maybe I shouldn't read anymore, I damn near tore my friends head off this morning (he's still a JW, but I think he's starting to have doubts)????

Any suggestions welcome - even if it's to tell me to get over it already!!! Sometimes a good kick in the arse is what I need

Get over it already! Just kidding. The level of anger is proportionate to the level of involvement and sincerity. That's been my experience. COC was helpful in seeing just how human it always was, and how much it paralleled the reality in the local congregation. Oh how we took an obvious human organization and "Spirirualized" its failings as the operation of Jehovah to get to the truth of a matter. Wait on Jehovah? COC shows Jehovah has nothing to do with the matter.

The recent court decisions are the death knell for Watchtower hell. Take heart.

    LOL at was!!!

You are right, I should get over it!!! It's just so stupid to hear active JW's repeating the party line of "their just imperfect humans" that makes me want to smack the shite out of them!!!!

One of the ads on this page are for anger management - maybe you should check out the site! LOL j/k

I have the book, but haven't read it yet. I'm not really sure I want to - I'm at peace with things now and have worked through the anger, not sure I want to go back there!

Hopefully it will leave your system soon!

    Here's a hug for ya

For me, after I read the book I was angry. But it was who I ended up being angry at that just surprised me. I was angry with the Watchtower, something I didn't even think was possible. I didn't find myself in a rage or anything like that, it was simply a resentment for their organization establishment. It pushed me to realize that I didn't have to take their nonsense any more.

I think the best part about Rays books is that they are written in such a way that there is no spite in it. It is simply information, information that disappoints, saddens and angers. But in my case it was all positive. It moved me to feel pity for what I had been a part of and the people I knew that where still there.

It's a good read, the second book is even better IMO.

I haven't read the book but I feel it would read like any other high up insider of any other religion.

    Minus the blood problem.

I can't believe you read Apostate literature. You're disfellowshipped.
