If you go to http://www.jwfacts.com/index_files/earthquakes.htm it shows the statements the WTS has made about earthquakes and compared them with what has really happened. This article was the turning point for me and the Watchtower Society. I was innocently studying earthquakes and found that there has been no increase in earthquakes for millions of years. As I looked into it further I was stunned that the Watchtower blatantly lies about earthquakes, misquotes sources, ignores statistics that anyone can find in an encyclopedia and contradicts its own research. This really rocked my world, as almost everything i knew was from the Wathchtower, and I didn't know if everything else I had been taught was equally deceptive. Two years later and my entire world view is totally different.

"that there has been no increase in earthquakes for millions of years."

This fact was one of the first things I researched independently when I came to JWD.
I will try and find the authority that showed that the prevelance and strength of earthquakes has remained much the same forever.

The WT has definitely become less dogmatic on earthquakes over the last 10 years.

The "special talk" today did mention the study on earthquakes but emphasised that damage and death were on the increase due to population density not added frequency.

thank you all for your comments. I guess it is better to continue the discussion on the special talk and earthquakes in just one thread:
