New track work

We did a lot of tract work in the 50's. Then they were smaller and called handbills. We'd let ya in our meetings but it'll cost ya to git out. Cost ya your mother, your father, your sister, your brother, your son, your daughter, your job, your home and part of your sanity.
We stood by the gutter bums on dirty street corners at convention cities wearing sandwich placards and handing out handbills. We'd go shack to shanty in convention cities inviting people to associate with us at the convention who were worse than our relatives who we were shunning because they quit reading our books.
We always preferred bad strangers to our own friends who erred or disagreed with us. -

Double yawn :
Even more tracts from the religion with possibly the worst false-alarm track record (note distinction between a tract (i.e., pamphlet, brochure) and a track (i.e., the mark or trail left by something).

I bet they will get a lot of takers here. It's a five hour drive to the convention city [unless it changed this year], and I don't think they ever got anyone to come to the meetings right across the street, with the tract work we did in the past.
I can't imagine someone agreeing to come to a meetin' 250 miles away. What goofballs.
IF they did get someone to agree - they would likely pick them up and have to get them to stay in the Motel for three days. Guess that Jw family would have to act 'Christian' for the long ride there and back. That oughta be a kick to normal Jw gossip-fests on the ride to the convention city.
As far as the goal - there is an ad on the back for a book - that is the real intention IMO.

The push is to get new people to the district convention? Seriously what person is going to want their first dose of a new religion to be an entire day listening to talks? Maybe if you invited them for the drama or something, but really a district convention? Maybe they don't actually want new converts.
On a side note, what happened with the dramas anyway, there's never any ones with costumes anymore. Last couple years they were all modern day examples instead of the bible dramas. What a jip.

Yeah....my sis is real excited about the tract work. Seems like this year it's a bigger deal than usual. Does anyone think that maybe the society is going to call this one of the "trumpets sounding" from Revelation? You know, like they did one of the 1925 conventions?

They are starting to develope a pattern. First you have the build up to the memorial and special talk. Big fuss over that scatter in the special day or circuit assembly. Than a campaign to make sure people attend the D.C. that occupies the summer months. Than for fall, some big tract campaign, sprinkle in the other assemblyand that gets you through the christmas season. New year starts and repeat with the buildup to the memorial. An endless cycle of mindless busy work.

Right on, I've seen irregular and inactive ones dragged out for the tract work.
Even those that do not like to go door to door, will spend an hour or so doing this easy work.
Elders are primarily concerned in covering the territory so very often they just leave the tract at the door without talking to anyone.
The society main concern is high numbers for their yearly report.

It's the same way here. I had the impression that was how all of them are doing it(?) Is that so, or nay?
Just wondering.
