I was a JW for about 6 years. Started when I was about to turn 18. I wasn't treated all that well, which is maybe a good thing. It got me out a lot sooner than most people! But I wanted to sort out what had gone wrong and began reading the Society's critics. Believe it or not, most of them aren't bitter or crazy. This led me to other avenues, including philosophy and finally to secularism. Now, I'm an atheist with pet rats, a love of computers, writing, and a wife that is still a JW. (Go fig) I have my own web site at www.atheistgeeknews.com. I'm including ex-Witness stuff there.
