Last WW1 US vet. dead

    The number was 14 a few months back.... National Public Radio did a story on WW1 vets, I think they had found 4 to talk to.

    If memory serves, WW2 vets are passing at the rate of 1000 a week or so. If you know one get to know him or her. They have some great stories.

    The last US Navy WWI vet died...

    There are still 3 US Army WWI vets alive and kickin

    The marker isn't a Government issue headstone.... And it looks older than 20th century to me. That marker might be from the Grand Army of the Republic or some other Civil War association.... Maybe the Local VFW can tell you what that star is... I dont recall ever seeing one. ~Hill
