Holy Spirit directed me to an issue of Awake! that was under a pile of papers by my phone:

How's this for controlling information flow to young minds while feigning concern for their well-being;

This was a Young People Ask article that came from the issue that demonized newspapers and their self serving reporters.

This was just another proof to me that the Society is utterly terrified of the ability of people to disseminate and think on information freely, even communication between Witnesses is to be SHUNNED. Yes, that is exactly what the above is suggesting.

Any organization/group/association has to set SOME kind of rules (or encouragement) to help the members as a whole.

Well, that's true, but what kind of organization is afraid of its own members talking with each other in an unsupervised forum? Why is that concept so alarming to the Society?

Perhaps they are still wary from the early 80's Bethel Apostasy scare. Even in the "House of God," all it took was some people trying to study the Bible alone, away from prying eyes, for a scandal to develop. That's why all "reputable" parties have a trusted Brother TM to watch over the festivities.

Now tell me Mad, why does the Society go out of the way to control its members so much?

Sir Nose- my guess is that they dont want us to know of all the blunders- AND the welfare of any with weak faith encountering all the hateful things said...and a lot is likely fabricated!
