So THAT's why you're so dang cranky. Now (putting on my Certified Construction Carpenter Specialist of the Century hat)...why are you stripping them? Why not reface? Or replace? Or refinish only the faceframes, and have new doors made? But I don't have time for such nonsense! I'm redoing a closet!!!!! LOL (Seriously; give me a call, if you'd like, eh?)

Oh you two are too cute!

I am stripping them because they were painted with a water base over an oil base. I'd just have new ones made, but there's almost 50 of these things!!! I am a starving artist here! LMAO, and yeah how'd you know I was cranky?!?!?!?! I have been trying to wrap my head around the scope of this task. But I have faith in me. That paneling I was talking about.....it was under a chair-railing throughout my living room. The livingroom isn't square. It's got all sorts of angles and juts or whatever you want to call them..... The livingroom is 500 sq ft. I pulled the panels off, and the nightmare began. The outlets.....around them.....holes in drywall cut in a manner never to be seen by human eyes. Not until Schism comes along and decides she hates paneling. I had to cut the drywal stud to stud. Then cut new drywall to fit. Then cut rectangles for the outlets to fit, then attach. 12 in all. Meticulous shitty thing to have to do. And lets not talk about the windows. Why would anyone put hideous decorative windows in an interior wall? So you can wave to people in the kitchen from the livingroom???? But the door connecting the two are 15 ft wide! Don't know. But whoever built this place did it. They were 4 ft by 16 inches. I peeled away cheap framing, then carefully dislodged whatever was holding these monsters in place. Cut to the studs, measured, added new drywall.

I feel like I am lying on a lounge chair in a shrink's office recalling the horrors of someone else's bad taste that I fixed, single-handedly, alone, with no guide book or man to teach me. A 19 year old girl, on a mission from ......god(?). I don't know why on earth I did a good job, but it worked. I still don't know how I know how to do things that I've never attempted before. Maybe I am reincarnated?

Don't worry Biker, I will leave him to render his dues to you!

Ok wait, you two are married.

Are you in seperate rooms on seperate computers doing this?

Schism, Kate's and my computer are connected on a router, in the same room; that's why our IP's are the same. Sometimes we "battle" each other (I cantankerously always start it!! ), looking in each other's eyes, as tonight. LOL

Sometimes, I could just wish that JWD still had a chat room, where Kate and I first met, and then we could have these little escapades without cluttering up the main board! Oh the stories that some folks here could tell you about those days!

Aging does not mean decrepancy, eh?

    AAAAAAHHHAHA!

I could just imagine this scene too. That must have felt weird the first time you set up the computers in the same room and simultaneously posted. Too cute!

Now about the olden days..... there was a chat room???? Why can't we have one now? I want this site to have a chat room!

Oh goodness. I could imagine the stories. Making sweet sweet forum love.

Why isn't there a chat anymore?

Schism, I don't want to speak for the folks who operate and moderate this discussion board, but, imho, and with some awareness of the circumstances, we don't have chat here anymore because it was more trouble than it was worth. Based on my experience, I have absolutely no disagreement with that decision.

But we can still have a little escapade now and then, eh? LOL
