Anyone else feel a bit guilty celebrating holidays openly after not doing so all your life?
Getting out of your head and taking action....is the biggest step you can make. Some people stay in their heads forever. Take action steps and don't look back. Enjoy your freedom!
Anyone else feel a bit guilty celebrating holidays openly after not doing so all your life?
My daughter's 7th birthday was also our first family celebration. I was too afraid to even put "HAPPY BIRTHDAY" on the cake - I ordered a cake that just had her name instead. Then we saw my JW dad the day after her party and she is showing him her presents and asks "how come you didn't get me a birthday present?" Panic!
It gets easier - especially as the kids get older and start looking forward to their parties. We had a roller skating party last time - that was a lot of fun!
