That's pretty much the trick, getting them to work through fear rather than being motivated by love because of a heartfelt desire. The overall problem with the dubs is that the way they relate to God is one of fear. Cults know how to pile up the psychological pressure on members.

That Children was such a moronic book. If dubs had followed the advice esented in it there would be no JWs. They would have gone extinct. For those who aren't familiar with that book it was a fictional account of a young man and woman who decide not to marry and have kids so that they could serve the Lord fully. They postpone it all till the soon to come New Order.
