Yesterday I received a call from State Rep. Leslie Hodge. A while back I called her office and got an appointment. I asked her to introduce legislation that would require sellers of used cars (not private parties) to disclose the cars problems and let the buyer make an informed decision whether to buy it or not. As the law is now you buy a used car and you sign the contract and it blows up before you leave the lot You still owe the money for the balance. My beef is with the tote the note dealerships that sell cars that are worn out and very high mileage. I have a number of customers that have fallen victim to this con and are in dire financial straits with a car that doesn't run.
What prompted this post is now the Governors office has called and they have expressed interest and so have a couple TV reporters so now I guess I'll end up on TV and probably a few hit lists from a lot of these charlatons.
Can anyone do a makeover for me? LOL
