From Webster's New Twentieth Century Dictionary-Unabridged-Second Edition:
Rodentia: an order of mammals having two (rarely four) large incisor teeth in each jaw...The rat, mouse, squirrel, marmot, muscrat, beaver, etc. belong to this order. Also called GLIRES.
