"It is vital that we ... respond to the directions of the "slave" as we would to the voice of God ..." (The Watchtower, June 15, 1957, Page 371)

"Then we will no longer be babies. We will not be tossed about like a ship that the waves carry one way and then another. We will not be influenced by every new teaching we hear from people who are trying to fool us. They make plans and try any kind of trick to fool people into following the wrong path." (Ephesians 4:14, New Century Version)

This is for all the Jehovah's Witnesses who may be reading this -- you are putting your trust and your hope for everlasting life in a group of imperfect, infallible, un-inspired men who make mistakes and errors. You are placing your eternal destiny in their hands. Have you been taught that you MUST obey the Watchtower Society or ELSE because Jehovah is speaking directly through them? If so, you need to read these quotes from the Watchtower Society:

    Awake!, March 22, 1993, Page 3:

There are some who make spectacular predictions of the world’s end to grab attention and a following, but others are sincerely convinced that their proclamations are true. They are voicing expectations based on their own interpretation of some scripture text or physical event. They do not claim that their predictions are direct revelations from Jehovah and that in this sense they are prophesying in Jehovah’s name. Hence, in such cases, when their words do not come true, they should not be viewed as false prophets such as those warned against at Deuteronomy 18:20-22. In their human fallibility, they misinterpreted matters.

Jehovah’s Witnesses, in their eagerness for Jesus’ second coming, have suggested dates that turned out to be incorrect. Because of this, some have called them false prophets. Never in these instances, however, did they presume to originate predictions ‘in the name of Jehovah.’ Never did they say, ‘These are the words of Jehovah.’ The Watchtower, the official journal of Jehovah’s Witnesses, has said: “We have not the gift of prophecy.” (January 1883, page 425) “Nor would we have our writings reverenced or regarded as infallible.” (December 15, 1896, page 306) The Watchtower has also said that the fact that some have Jehovah’s spirit “does not mean those now serving as Jehovah’s witnesses are inspired. It does not mean that the writings in this magazine The Watchtower are inspired and infallible and without mistakes.” (May 15, 1947, page 157) “The Watchtower does not claim to be inspired in its utterances, nor is it dogmatic.” (August 15, 1950, page 263) “The brothers preparing these publications are not infallible. Their writings are not inspired as are those of Paul and the other Bible writers. (2 Tim. 3:16) And so, at times, it has been necessary, as understanding became clearer, to correct views. (Prov. 4:18)”—February 15, 1981, page 19. _______________________________________________________

    "Jehovah's Witnesses--Unitedly Doing God's Will Worldwide" Brochure (1986), Pages 26-27:

The Governing Body consists of a group of anointed Christian men (13 in 1986), including 7 serving on the board of directors of the Watch Tower Society. These preside over the worldwide activities of Jehovah’s Witnesses. They are not inspired by God and hence are not infallible, but they rely on God’s infallible Word as the highest authority on earth, and have a lifetime of experience in submitting to God’s will. Each has a record of more than 40 years in the full-time ministry with Jehovah’s Witnesses.

The Governing Body supervises what the Society publishes. What is written is based on observing the spiritual needs of the flock and is the result of prayerful and thorough study and research into God’s Word. As these men continue to study the Bible and observe the progressive outworking of God’s purposes, the fulfillment of prophecy in world events, and the situation of God’s people in the world, they may at times find it necessary to make enlightened adjustments in the understanding of some teachings. In this way, knowledge of truth becomes ever more abundant.—Psalm 97:11; Proverbs 4:18; Daniel 12:4. _______________________________________________________

the anointed remnant of Christ’s disciples, though not inspired as was Paul, have produced much Bible literature ._______________________________________________________

"Divine Name" Brochure (1984), Page 5:

Most Bible translators doubtless respect the Bible and sincerely want to make it understandable in this modern age. But translators are not inspired. Most of them have strong opinions, too, on religious matters and may be influenced by personal ideas and preferences. They can also make human errors or mistakes in judgment.

Hence, we have the right to ask some important questions_______________________________________________________

    The Watchtower, February 15, 1981, Page 19:

True, the brothers preparing these publications are not infallible. Their writings are not inspired as are those of Paul and the other Bible writers. (2 Tim. 3:16) And so, at times, it has been necessary, as understanding became clearer, to correct views. (Prov. 4:18) However, this has resulted in a continual refining of the body of Bible-based truth to which Jehovah’s Witnesses subscribe.

even today dedicated servants of Jehovah, though not inspired, are aided by God’s spirit or active force to explain Scriptural prophecies to those receiving them in a favorable and appreciative way.

    The Watchtower, December 15, 1962, Page 762:

The men in Jehovah’s organization who prepare spiritual instruction for the Lord’s “sheep” diligently study the Scriptures to learn what God has put there for the instruction and guidance of his people. They make no claim of inspiration—only that they are Bible students. Since their comments on the Scriptures are not inspired, they can at times make mistakes. Does this make them false prophets? Not at all! A false prophet does not correct himself. He persists in proclaiming a wrong view even when he knows that it is wrong. But these students of God’s Word correct misunderstandings when they discover them. They are interested in the truth, not in self-justification. Their mistakes do not mean God’s spirit does not operate upon them; it does, just as it did upon Peter despite his mistakes. [...]

Over the years the anointed remnant have published many things through the Watch Tower Bible and Tract Society that they have learned from their ceaseless searching of God’s Word. [...] Some others have, by further study, been revealed to be mistaken conclusions due to an unclear view of certain scriptures. As understanding of these scriptures became clearer the mistakes were corrected. Such corrections show their honesty and love for truth.

This sincere desire to search out accurate understanding of the things in God’s Word and this willingness to make changes when Scriptural evidence accumulates to indicate a need for them should instill confidence in the organization. It assures the Lord’s “sheep” that the organization will never knowingly misinform them.

God’s spirit operates upon his dedicated servants today, not to inspire them, but to move them gently in the direction of increased understanding. It permits them to make mistakes as they grow in understanding of God’s Word, but in time it helps them to see their mistakes, which they gladly correct. In this manner they progress along the path of the righteous ones, with the light of Scriptural understanding steadily getting “lighter and lighter until the day is firmly established.” (Prov. 4:18) This progress in Scriptural knowledge might be likened to an overcast sky that is gradually breaking up. As the openings between the clouds grow, more and more light comes through. Sometimes a truth is seen but then is obscured by a misunderstanding, just as a passing cloud momentarily obscures some rays of the sun. Later this truth returns in greater clarity when the misunderstanding is removed. God’s spirit is evident upon the organization from the progress it is making along the path of Scriptural truth.

While the “slave” and other appointed overseers are certainly not inspired, as were the ones used to write the Bible, yet those in the congregation show proper respect for the position they occupy by responding to counsel given because they know that this is Jehovah’s provision for instructing his people at this time.--Heb. 13:7, 17. ________________________________________________

    The Watchtower, October 15, 1954, Page 638:

In regard to how the truth is brought forth through Jehovah’s organization, please note that if the Watch Tower Society were infallible there would be no need for future correction of viewpoints held; but because it is not infallible and has never claimed to be, from time to time corrections are necessary. If Jehovah’s spirit operated in the way it did upon Bible writers, inspiring them to write according to Jehovah’s thoughts, then no future corrections in matters would ever be necessary. But because the spirit does not operate in this way today some corrections are made from time to time. [...]

Some truths were not essential for us prior to the time of their discernment, otherwise Jehovah would have caused them to become known earlier. [...]

We are counseled to remain close to the organization, for even if the organization does have views that are later changed, our safety lies in remaining within the organization and changing with it when the light increases and new truths are discerned. _________________________________________________

The Watchtower is a world-famous Bible-study journal. It invites, not blind acceptance, but careful study, to prove its every statement with the Bible. Unlike papal Rome, it makes no claims to infallibility. Rather than this Bible principle of ‘proving all things’, is it not the blind acceptance of traditions that makes possible the spread of human “garbled versions of the Word of God”?

Is this truly the Organization that you want to put your trust in for salvation? I leave you with a Scripture:

"Put not your trust in princes, in a son of man, in whom there is no salvation." (Psalm 146:3, English Standard Version)

WOW! What can you say about crap like this? Were not false prophets because we actually believed our lies? Deuteronomy 18:20-22 doesn't say anything about the motive or emotional state or anything else about the prophet. It simply stated that if the words were from god, god would back them up. If god didn't back up the words, then the person was a false prophet.

Seems funny that witnesses are quick to dismiss anything that an Apostate says if it come from really old WTS publications yet they are more than willing to quote from publications from the 1800's when it supports their case! Freakin' Hypocrites!!!!

The Society seems to have completely failed to understand the difference between honest scriptural interpretation and speculative/presumptous prognostication. At least William Miller had the decency to give up after 1844.

Sure, but what happens when they flip-flop on a doctrine, like organ transplants, or the fate of the men of Sodom and Gomorrah? Is that progress, if you keep backing up time and again?

More importantly, if this spirit lets them make mistakes, then how can you trust ANYTHING that they tell you? After all, you could just be following a mistake.

I suppose that's their excuse for all the doctrinal flip flops. Trouble is, the dubs just accept crap like this, I know I used to, and carry on.

There is no way I could have been in my right mind when I joined the Watchtower cult.

If I had been informed of how perverted their doctrines are I never would have let them in the front door.

So what the hell does it mean? That someone can have god's spirit and still spew forth lies?
