A lot of co-workers and former co-workers and I have felt the same thing some have said here. Almost from the moment Wes was financially free to do what he wished, his life was controlled by this disease.
It confirms my belief that life is essentially random, and the best that we can do is accept that, and then stack the deck as much in our own favor as possible - love much, be generous, be true to ourselves, pursue the things for which we have a passion.
Thanks for the expressions of sympathy here, but more than anything, this was just a way for me to say what I felt about Wes.
