And who elects the governing body

    Good Question.

The GB elects its own members - not unlike a dictator choosing his successor.

According to the official theology of the WTS, the current definition for the FDS is, as Becca 1 suggested, the following: "The FDS is a composite group of "anointed christians" who are alive on earth at any one given time" Therefore to be in the FDS you need to qualify in three ways:

1 You need to be "anointed"

2 You need to be alive on earth. According to WT theology, the apostle Paul is alive since he was resurrected in 1918, but he is not on earth, so he does'nt qualify. Neither for that matter does Freddy Flintstone Franzz, nor Joe Rudderless, and all the other loonies gone before. Evidently these "anointed ones" number about 5K today

3 You need to be part of a "composite group" If you claim to be of the "anointed" but prefer to isolate yourself in Tibet contemplating your navel, you're out.

The "Governing Body" is a seperate though related, group. These vary in number from 10-15 and form the elitist policy making presidium that controls all practical functions of the WTS. Membership into this self perpetuating, secretive group is by invitation only. To qualify for this invitation you need the following three details:

1 You need to be "anointed"

2 You need to have demonstrated a ruthless organisational streak, ie you need to have demonstrated your loyalty to previous members of the GB unquestioningly.

3 You need to have a penis. Anyone with tits is is automatically disqualified

    Cheers
