The number is supposed to be the perfect number and why God uses it so much. It is “Gods Number”

Can anyone explain the importance of the use of this number in connection with jws? If you are/have been a jw what does this number signify to you as a believer/former believer in “The Truth”?

    Its a pime number.

It comes after 6, which is a number whose factors both add up to itself AND multiply to itself. 6 is by FAR a more interesting number.

    6 rocks!

As I recall, most numbers are Symbolic. Six is 'falling short of perfection'. 12 being, 'complete' (thus 144,000 being a perfect number) etc. Dubs lap it up, yet mention 'Numerology' and that's just "Demonic''. Another thing that confused me!

Theres nothing short of perfection about 6.

    Factors of 6: 1, 2, 3

    1 x 2 x 3 = 6

    1 + 2 + 3 = 6

How can you get more pefect than that???????

    I googled this up:

I think the JW's are much more obsessed with 144. And 2520. I44 creative days condemning 144 creative days, 144,000, 2520 years, and so on.

There is also a lot to be said for the number 5...besides the fact that we have five fingers!

We haven't had a thread on the "Golden Ratio" for a long time, but there are a lot of beautiful and fundamental concepts in this ratio; it is inextricably linked with the segments of the five-pointed star, as well as the Fibbonachi series, triangles of Pascal, etc.

I think I got hammerroided the last time I did one by making an incorrect comment on the "One, Two, Three, ...Many" numbering systems found in some primitave cultures, though...

Why is six scared of seven?

    Because seven eight nine

The dub obsession with 7 is probably why I still have a latent obsession with the number 7. When I was in fourth or fifth grade, I saw a segment on how some people put crosses through sevens and zeds. I trained myself to put crosses through sevens, and nowadays I put crosses through zeds, too.

Yeah I used to wonder about that same thing. Just one of many things that would be answered with "Thats different though".
