"Emission", "Issue" or "Genital organ"? - Ezekiel 23:20

  Here's how Ezekiel 23:20 reads in various translations:
  
  

  "20 And she kept lusting in the style of concubines belonging to those whose fleshly member is as the fleshly member of male asses and whose genital organ is as the genital organ of male horses." - New World Translation by WTS

  "20 There she lusted after her lovers, whose genitals were like those of donkeys and whose emission was like that of horses" - NIV

  "20 For she doted upon their paramours, whose flesh is as the flesh of asses, and whose issue is like the issue of horses." - King James Version

  As far as I can tell, "emission" and "issue" were frequently used by other translations, whereas "genital organ" is uniquely in NWT.

  Given that the translation of this word does not seem to contribute to any major doctrinal dispute, does anyone know why the difference is so great between the NWT and the other translations? This assumes that "issue" is not euphemism for "appendage" or "genital member".

  I was just prayerfully considering this scripture today, as I counseled a pair of pioneer sisters. I can't say which versions specifically, but I'm pretty sure I've seen other translations than the NWT that make this an inches, as opposed to ounces, debate.

  Physiological.

  The Hebrew term ze´ra? is used in a physiological sense at Leviticus 15:16-18; 18:20, with reference to an emission of semen. At Leviticus 12:2 the causative form of the verb za·ra?´ (sow) is rendered in many translations by the English expressions "conceive" or "conceive seed." At Numbers 5:28 a passive form of za·ra?´ appears with ze´ra? and is rendered "made pregnant with semen" (NW), "sown with seed" (Yg), "conceive seed" (KJ).

  I believe this is likely to be down to the translators for the NWT not knowing how to say "they liked their men hung like donkeys"....

  But Crumpet, that is exactly what the NWT is saying: "they like their men hung like donkeys, hung like horses"

  By contrast, the other translations are saying: "they like their men hung like donkeys, ejaculating like horses."

  I can see that some are already doing eye-rolls. But I can't help myself. I just have to know why the NWT would choose to go against the prevailing choice of words. I'm inquisitive!! For starters, I wish someone out there could tell me what the original word should be translated as.
