In case you buy another laptop, I have a Sony Vaio which has been totally trouble free. But then again so have the Dells I own.

Gary, this might sound dumb but measure your voltage on your AC outlet. A friend had some similar issues and I found his voltage to be 132vac due to a transformer being faulty on his pole.
The electric company went good for it all. -

Oh! Good ideas! Direct TV replaced their dead unit today with a DVR and they installed it free. I might be happy with this fix.
The laptop might not be in the junk yet. A friend called today and said he might be able to fix it for less than new cost. Well see!

I'm chill, too. The A/C guy was here and I am happy.
He said to me, "You are so nice?" I was like, "Really? I'm just being normal." He said, "Mostly I get yelled at when I tell people how much it costs to get fixed."
I was like, yo dude, If I was the A/C Man in Fresno in Summertime, nobody would give me shit. LOL.

Glad yer cool again. It cooled down a bit here today. Not even 90.
