You may well be right COMF.
These are hardly 'ordinary times' and I may well have over reacted -- not a very sensible thing to do.
However, the Newsnight programme I'm listening to is describing this attack on Kabul as a "strike-back".
The discussion is currently centred on the possible repurcussions the USA may be faced with should this prove to be a presumptuous attack - especially if there should be civilian casualites!
One panelist has commented on how often in the last 8 hours the US has been referred to as a 'sleeping giant'. He has expressed concern over the anger with which the giant may strike.
Perhaps, in my choice of title for this thread, I could have been less alarmist - but these are certainly alarming times.
