I work with two Moslems and have known several others. The ones I work with are as shocked as anyone else. I can tell you this, their solution is that the radical elements of Islam will have to be destroyed. They view them as virtual apostates becasue the Koran does not in any way support this sort of thing. They also think that any attempt to reason or negotiate is futile. The only thing you can do is assist the fanatics on their chosen road to Paradise at an accelerated pace.

Racism has nothing to do with it and only an absolute fucking idiot would throw down the racism card.
What a brilliant argument you are presenting here. Well thought-out and truly enlightening.
I hope the responsible "people up there" invest just a tiny little bit of brains before jumping to conclusions and sending a couple of cruise missiles to the next available target.
How old are you, little boy? Is that how you discuss things with your peers, by calling them names?
f., wondering...

Nice level-headed comments fodeja.
Americans are quick to blame the middle east. There is a definite possibility of this. Then again, there are enough wacko Americans that have the desire to carry out acts of violence on their own people to make a statement. It's happened before, hasn't it?

My opinion, FWIW, if you take away, the excuse, of martyrdom, viewed as a great honorable endeavor, by Islam, then, a terrorist would not find such a large group of volunteer martyrs. So, it is the extreme,anti-societal aspect, of Islam, that it's radical members employ, to their end. In my opinion, these people have called us Satan, and openly, and repeatedly, stated we are an avowed enemy, worthy of dying against, in jihad...or "holy war". We have never returned such ill will, nor actively sought, to destroy them, or expressed support, for their demise. In fact, it was the continued inhumane practice of so called ethnic cleansing, that prompted us to exert force, in former Yugoslavia. Need it be said, who, we were trying to help? But sooner or later, if someone persists in viewing one, as an enemy, you will have to begin treating them, as such. I hope the entire Non-Islamic, and, Islamic, world, will now, see, this point.

Where did I suggest firing a cruise missle at anything or anyone. The likelihood is that Arab terrorists did this abhorrant thing. I don't know what your problem is. You call me a racist for suggesting that this is probably Muslim in origin. You are the child. Don't bother me anymore numbnuts.
P.S.
I believe the notion of an independent Palestinian state was buried today. I'm no fan of Israel per se, but the idea of making peace with people dancing in the streets, passing out candy because over 10,000 innocent men, women and children in America were killed today, should seal the fate of that.

The problem here is fanatacism. Period. It has nothing to do with Islam. I personally know several Moslems, and I have discussed the concept of Islamic violence with them. To a man, they have told me that the Koran does NOT support this fanaticism, but that fanatics can twist whatever they want to further their cause. The average Moslem is as sadden by these events as the average Christians. It is just the fanatics and the misled who are rejoicing now.
Please be careful when slinging blame. The knee-jerk reaction is sometimes not the acccurate reaction.

The religion of Islam, esepecially itsradical elements, is known for violence and the resolve to kill all those who don't serve Allah. Sure, there are many conservative Muslims who don't behave or feel that way, but the religion encourages that type of thinking.
This is not entirely true. Unfortunately this statement is exactly the misinformation that most people believe. My brother is Muslim and he is nothing like this nor are any of his friends. They absolutely abhor viloence and condemn it. They also do not shun anyone who leaves their religion nor do they discourage their members from having friends of other faiths. They would never go out and kill someone just because they have left the faith.
I think everyone needs to wait until it is confirmed who is responsible before jumping to conclusions. Remember the OKC bombing everyone was really sure it was a forgein attack and as we all know, it was not.

fodeja,
Please enlighten me.
Is there any written word in the Quran or other Islamic law that encourages the destruction of another race of people or country. There seem to be so many Muslims that view the U.S. as Satanic, and encourage our destruction in recent years. I don't recall Christian or Jewish factions that call for the destruction of Islamic countries and people.
Where are some violent Islamic people getting their ideas for the terrorist acts they commit?

Very true, and a good idea, to remember. It would be terrible, to presume wrongly, while the guilty party(s) walked, whoever they are.
