When someone mentions the 80's I'm thinking just a few years ago. Years fly by like months now. Can't believe I've been retired 8 years already.

It looks like that period of time (90's) left a strong impression on your mind. I think it's kinda like at the beginning of each year. Sometimes you come to write the date and you find yourself writing it using the previous year and not the new year.

Maybe a subconscious inability to move ahead w time since exiting wt structure. I know that if i look too far back or too far forward in time, it scares the #& out of me.
