Are you an efficient personality?

If I were to say ...

"We are camping this weekend, I will pick you up on Friday at 5PM and you need to have all your stuff ready to go. You will need everything, as I am only bringing enough for myself"

... Friday is about six days away. Would you be an efficient personality and prepare now to get things together, or perhaps at least plan out what needs to be done before that point or are you more of a person that I would get there on Friday to find.

You just got home from the store with some stuff, but need to pack still and find some equipment. Also, someone that ask if we can stop at the store on the way out to get some food as you never had time to shop. Now, lets take it further, you get to the campground and start to set up. Would you know where you equipment was, what you would be eating or would it be a lets look around and hope I brought everything and what I eat is what is on top in the ice chest.

I ask this, my spouse and I seem to be the only ones who do the planning, get all the stuff ready on time and always have an agenda and plan of where and what we do. Not that we do not leave room for fun stuff, as that is mainly what we do when on trips. It is more that we organize the "boring" stuff to have more time to enjoy and for some reason, none of our friends are even close to being like this and no matter how well we plan, we spend a day getting them ready and the rest of the trip listening to them have the same conversation of "where is this" and "what are we eating" or "we forgot this!"

    So what are you like?

I plan...most of the time. When I go on trips I don't want to have to go shopping immediately. I do not want to spend half a day farting around Walmart trying to find stuff I should have brought with me or digging around in my luggage looking for stuff. I also travel with a small suitcase so I choose what I bring carefully. I also pack at least 24 hours in advance.

I'm not a camper, but I'd want to have everything I need and know where everything is. Can't imagine anything worse than all my stuff in a muddle.

Can I be an efficient procrastinator? Cause I plan everything out well in advance, make detailed lists and get everything together that I need. Then I put then final touches off to the last minute. For example, I had a pp presensation on friday that I knew about for a month, I researched everything right away, had all documents neatly together and highlited with specfic points, It was due friday at 10:40 am, I finished it at 10:33 am. My teacher said it was the best one he had seen so I got full marks. Lesson learned? Procrastination does pay off. Hahahahaha. Dams

I used to be a bit of a "last minute" person when I was a jw, but I have improved a little now, and do more advance preparation. I think it must be dedpoet's influence working on me - he has to work away from time to time and plans meticulously for each trip.

Definitely a planner, and well prepared ! We like to camp , and I like being prepared for anything so that once we get to our destination I can enjoy myself . Sometimes I guess I over do the planning part. When we take a trip I usually have an agenda for each day . I hate to miss anything and I also don't like to just sit around and do nothing . We have friends that are exactly the opposite of me. Everytime we are together everything is disorganized and utter confusion for them , never prepared. I finally quit letting it bother me now I expect it and count on it as part of the entertainment to watch them run around like chickens with their heads cut off.

I am also a planner. I hate to be late, so am usually ready to go much earlier than necessary.

I completely relate, free2beme! I like to travel and I have friend that I've gone on a few international trips with. He's good to travel with because he isn't whiney and he has a sense of what's going on around him, but I always end up planning what we do each day and getting him motivated to get out of bed, etc. I find most people are like that. I tend to get irritated when people can't get going or have trouble deciding what they want to do, either on a trip or in daily life. I like to plan ahead. Not that I don't procrastinate, but I at least have a plan.

I'm a planner too, especially for trips. However, I try to leave my weekends less scheduled to allow for spontaneity - which seldom occurs.

I am a planner too. If you were to invite camping I would love to work out the details and get it all ready. I hate being late for anything.

Reminds me once when we took a friend (J W Sister) on a holiday. Of course she had a room to herself so she was seperate and had to meet up, always late . "I cant help it, it think my watch is wrong" she would always say with a giggle. It really did not matter to her. We put it down to all those years of pioneering and being able please oneself .

Perhaps we are just all different kinds of people.

To be honestly honest, I'm only organized when it comes to travel. In normal life I am a procrastinator extraordinaire. Today I should be cleaning and organizing stuff upstairs. Instead I am sitting here on my butt fooling around. Must get up. Too hard...I'll do it later.
