After how many years of being 'inactive' and' not attending', will your local KH destroy your publisher record card?

Do they ever destroy all record of you if you cease to attend?

I ask as I started a topic last week, after finding out that 'we' were on an 'Inactive Publishers' list at the back of the KH. My husband has been 'inactive' for 14 years now.....so...do they ever get the 'message'?

I served as an elder from '95 until '98, Gill, and I'm trying really hard to remember how this went. As I recall we were supposed to go through and weed out cards periodically, but I also remember this was never a priority. Now and then we'd find the publisher cards of dead people in that file. As long as they're leaving you alone, I imagine you're fine. But, unless you want to invite a little judicial committee, you'd probably better leave it to them. And removing it will be at their whim.

    Hi Confession!

No we definitely don't want a JC, and would like to continue our 'fade' for now, at least.

So, I take it, as long as you're still alive, they keep your record card, even though you no longer even attend. Is that what you're saying? Sort of leaves you open to a surprise DF ing at anytime, really.

    Thanks, Dr Jekyll!

That will be very useful in the future. We do plan to end our 'fade' in the next year or so, and something like that will be handy.

    Thanks again.

The Pay Attention book says the records are eliminated upon request.
