    My condolences, Jim.

It seems especially sad for these folks who have put off living in expectation of entering the land of Oz after the Big A...which was supposed to have come decades ago. It has to be somewhat frightening for them.

Hope the JW funeral isn't too hard to take.

Well... the relationship I have with the other family members is kinda weird... but I suppose it works.

I pretty much leave them alone - and they do likewise with me. When I was married, I would go visit occassionally with the wife and daughter... but not too often.

My siblings are pretty much stuck in a time-warp. Their dress... their watches... from the late 60's or early 70's.

I overheard my older sister at my mom's funeral two years ago saying... "...well, we all thought Armageddon would have been here by now..." in an exasperated tone - and they still wait.

As for me - like I said... I'm doing great. I have my own belief system now, and I believe that my sister - passed - on to another level, if you will. Her being continues to exist.

With their belief-system... you would think that the JWs would be going on about the 'resurrection', etc. ad-nausea (although I realize I will be hearing this rhetoric at the JW-BS talk in a few days), but my older sister was strangely quiet.

As will be their home. They are now down to 2... living as spinsters in that home - my youngest brother is going on 46 - my older sister... near 58.

My girlfriend is also noticing things, and asking questions. She was never associated with the JW's (thank goodness!) other than a 'study' when she lived in Missouri. Fortunately, she saw it all as BS - and walked away from it.

Now, she is asking me questions, and I am answering her - about the JW-beliefs... which she thinks is crazy.

    Regards,

James I'm so sorry to read of the death of your sister.

It sounds like you are the one that escaped from your family with the least negative impact from the JWs... I hope the sister who is asking you questions can grow and one day have the same belief system you have.

Thanks to all of yall, and your kind words. (Miss peaches - it's my girlfriend asking the questions - not my sister.) Anyway, just wanted to update yall... the funeral, will be on Thursday this week. The burial plot is up in the hill country, above Ingram, TX - so it'll be a nice drive into the country... wildflowers are blooming this time of year, so there ought to be a spectacular show of color along the highways. Regards, Jim TX
