Special Talk - Is God still in control? Does anyone have an effective illustration or experience for this talk? Regards Ajayboy
Special Talk - Is God still in control?
Execellent resource to use in your talk
Are you actually giving the talk?
Jehovah Take the Wheel?
Welcome ajayboy to the board. Look forward to future postings by you.
In control of people? Nope, we all have free will. The evil acts of despotic humans will contine, along with murders, rapes, child abuse, thefts, etc.
In control of the weather? Nope, no amount of prayer can change the course of a hurricane, tornado , typhoon. el ninos, rain, etc
In control of plague and disease? Nope, Jehovah will not step in and prevent the bird flu from mutating into a pandemic virus that will kill millions of humans.
In control of the Earth? Nope, Jehovah does not stop or alter, earthquakes, tsunamis, volcanoes, etc
In control of outer space? Nope, Jehovah would not stop a comet or asteroid from hitting the Earth and wiping out most of the living creatures who live on it, just like when the dinosaurs got barbecued.
In control of the Sun? Nope, the Sun will continue to get hotter and brighter until a billion years from now, it is so hot that The earth will boil from the heat and all animal life will die. In the short term, the Sun could weaken just enough to put us back into another Ice Age, just like has happened a dozen times before.
The only thing that is controlled is the thought process of Jehovah's Witnesses by the Watchtower leaders in Bethel.
God/Jesus is in control, but I can't vouch for the WTBTS or the Goobering Body. Looks like their train's going off the tracks.
Instead of giving a talk, just make a small sign that reads "This talk has been postponed. Sorry for any inconvenience." and leave it on the platform. If they can't figure it out, no talk would've mattered.
God is the one that sustains all life and the entire universe with his power and if he ever withdraws from it everything will fall to pieces.
It's sad that many humans instead of seeing a creator in the world around us from the minute atoms to the gigantic galaxies they see in them the blind force of chance.
Moshe, great post. First of all, the question of "is God in control" is absurdedly stupid for a person of faith. Second, the question is absurdedly stupid to a person without faith.
"It's sad that many humans instead of seeing a creator in the world around us from the minute atoms to the gigantic galaxies they see in them the blind force of chance."
Why does this Creator use the blind force of chance to do his purported will? It is not sad for us to see beyond the typical Judeo/Christian god... fiath is what's sad. Faith is the root of all evil.
