Sad to hear. I enjoyed his acting.

The famous baseball announcer for the Boston Red Sox Curt Gowdy has also died.

I loved him in Pleasantville. Here's a great actor who was typecast beforre his time. In an economy of gesture he spoke volumes, and he spoke it directly to our hearts. He was vastly under-utilized.

Comedy is always underrated. It is much harder to get someone to laugh than to cry. Any genius at comedy is a master at understanding human nature.

Don Knotts had a string of comedy movies in the '60s and '70s, which were shown on TV in later years. Remember "The Incredible Mr Limpet" (where he turns into a fish), or "The Reluctant Astronaut", or "The Love God", or some of the westerns with Tim Conway (The Apple Dumpling Gang)? I also enjoyed him during the "Threes Company" years.
