What was it that helped you the most to shake off the JW spell after you left and then get on in life, unhindered by their negative influences?
What helped you the most to beat the WTS negative influences?

LOL! I lived a "fast" past pre-borganization. I used to be an exotic dancer back in the early 70's in Big D. It took a while but really wasn't that hard to find a "happy medium" between Steppfordville and my past.

Gee Frannie, where were you when I was sneaking off to the strip joints in the late 70's early 80's when I used to be a DJ. Always a day late and a dollar short. Guess I would have been a day late and few dollars had you been there.LOL

I think it is as individual as you are. A clue might be interests you had pre-JW. I tried a bunch of things on behalf of my JW hubby, but in the end he picked his own way. He likes movies.

People are very important to me. It was family and friends that kept me from leaving and new friends that helped me leave. I knew the only way i could cope with leaving was to have a new circle of friends and over the last 4 years got to know some fantastic 'worldly' people. They helped me greatly with emotional support during the last 12 months when I was getting pounded by family and the congregation.
