The things kids say ... my little "critical thinker"

I am soooo proud - my little lad who's 6 declared that he had proof that Santa isn't real (he waited till after he unwrapped his christmas presents though, I guess just to be on the safe side).

This is his simple reasoning ...

"Santa isn't real ... because if santa brings all the presents, then why do they sell wrapping paper in the shops?"

It really makes sense when you think about it. I'm happy knowing he's already smarter than the average JW (and will never be one!)

Kids do say the darndest things.

As a child, I never would have thought of that one.

My granddaughter (five) told me she knows Santa is made up, at least the Santa that came to her school because it was the PRINCIPAL DRESSED UP and his beard was STRAIGHT not CURLY and you could see underneath it was HIM.

It's good to know JWD will eventually be passed on to capable hands!

(Of course by then it will be telepathically beamed into our heads. Can't wait!)

Congrat's, Simon. Surely, not prey for a cult sniffing about looking for a easy mark!

It can make your jaw drop sometimes at the reasoning little kids come up with. So bottom line! I mean, how do you argue a point like that? lol

I'm hoping by then, there won't be a need for this site.

My oldest son (6 yrs) cracks me up. His and my sence of humor are on identical wave lengths. Although I dont have any humorous stories to share at the moment, what I wanted to say is that he is just begining to believe in Santa. My wife and I never really promoted the notion that Santa is responsible for the gifts (never discouraged either). It took him going to kindergarten and being exposed to the other children to really take an interest. So we've had a little more fun this year playing on the whole Santa bit.

Yeah, kids are amazing. Especially when their given a nurturing enviornment to flourish in.

If we can manage to make this year hurt, Devon...if we can manage to make this year hurt.

I think what they fail to realize is the more reactionary they become the more active those inside become against their efforts. There are already SOOO many who only tolerate the leadership with thinly veiled irritation.

Anything that can be built can be dismantled.

Great story, Simon. I hope your kids never fully understand why you owned this Web site. I hope they run across a brief mention of Jehovah's Witnesses in some obscure history lesson or medical journal some day and say, "Huh...hey Father! Who were Jehovah's Witnesses?"

He can't be that bright. Now Santa won't bring him anything anymore and he'll have to make do with what his dad gets him
