Do you remember the teaching that the Witness taught, that once you have sex you were married in God's eyes. Basically, the ceremony was something that came as people wanted a family celebration, but in ancient times it was simply an act of going home with someone and you were then married. Well that is BS. There is evidence in history that marriage ceremonies were about as old as marriage itself. It was sometimes as simple as a small gathering to a huge party. In any sense, that whole you can not sit together or hold hands in public rule we lived by, until engaged, was so unbelievably extreme. No wonder people had sex before marriage. They couldn't do anything and their chemicals boiled over.
