doc kept calling her "buddy"
which annoyed us
so we asked him to leave.
i said I love you
she pretended not to understand.
i said thanks for saving my life all those times.
she said nuthin' to it.
i told her it'll be great not to have to put up with your hair everywhere.
she shot back with it'll be great not to have to put up with the weird ppl and catz you let invade our space.
i looked down at all the white hair static-clinging around the bottom of my black pantlegz
and truly loved it for the first time.
her life flashed before my eyes. her lives. our lives.
it's been quite the 13 years, i said.
it's been a slice, she agreed.
and we were silent together one last time.
we let doc back in.
i stayed by her side. it was shortlived.
And peaceful.
she deserves peaceful.
She's off a little early
to that much deserved
eternal catnap (catnip?)
in the sky.
we were pretty much as ready as we'd ever be.
'nite joey, nap well.
she's gone

Aww Spaz....that was so nice....I'm sorry for your loss. My parents just lost their 18 year old kitty on Saturday the same way, it's not easy.
