The WTS says they pattern their judicial proceedings on how the Israelites conducted their hearings. Remember that according to the WTS, the sins they consider DFing ones are capital offenses, punishable by death under the Law.
the wts disfellowship for fornication..which was not a death penalty offence under the mosaic law...(unless you consider being forced to marry a death penalty)....only adultery was punishable by death...and both parties were executed even if one wasnt married...and the innocent mate had no chance to grant forgiveness
