    Welcome!

Get out like you got in . . . study. Get people out like the Society gets them in . . . social incentives.

Thank you so very ,very , much for everyone's input .I have to be brief right now, but I had to let you know it means the world to me to finally have people to talk to that understand where I'm coming from. I want to read Ray Franz books but have not purchased one yet ,a little afraid of having it delivered at home and having someone else see it first. I am slowly trying to talk to my husband, he see's how unjust people have been at the hall , but he still has full confidence in the Society. My youngest son is in High School and has an open mind .I have an older Brother that was DsA years ago but we still talk occasionally , if he can forgive me for allowing jw belief to over rule my love for him as family then I plan on getting closer to his family and get to know my neice finally after 18 years .

Welcome Troubled Mind, it's great to have you here, I am also a slow fader, together with my husband our kids, some close family members, and some freinds, I thank God that I am not alone in this, it's not easy, but here you will find others that share your feelings, and with who you can openly speak your mind, there's alot to read, but you will find that as a person you will be enlightened.

Troubled, I'm sure your brother will be GLAD to have you back in his life. When i first faded, my brother would not speak with me....he was doing what he thought, and was "trained" to do....shun me. He has never felt so ashamed of himself, and has apologized profusely ever since he was DA'd....it makes no difference to me. Yes, i was hurt, but I understood his actions. We have never been closer. We have ALL the holidays together, and it's nice . You'll have so much fun getting to know your family .Enjoy!!

See if you can get it from your library. Then you wouldn't have to worry about it showing up in the mail.

This will take time but there are lots of people here who can help

My aunt welcomed me with open arms - literally - we just fell into each others arms and sobbed for all the lost years and all the future possibilities. Be hopeful. Those of us who have left and recognize the true nature of the WTS are thrilled to rekindle family ties

Go S L O W . . . wait for reason to catch up with emotion. Think it all out and then wait. Wait some more.
Once a mistake is made from your path it's very hard to fix if even possible.
Also, wait to worry. Study study and then study more. The study will take care of the emotion, the fear, and the worry. Post here and maybe make some live contacts to talk to. Did I mention, go slow?

Hi and welcome. I'm fairly new here myself; my husband is still active but I have been out about 7 years. I think one thing you will find most refreshing here is that you can have an opinion and not be judged. As everyone has said, take your time and read lots; the road is long but the destination is beyond anything you can imagine!

Welcome troubledmind! 18 years....omigosh, life is much too short. Get to know that niece. They are so special, and need aunties. I don't know the situation, but I'd suggest a very simple handwritten note to your family letting them know that your eyes are finally opened and would they please let you step back into their lives; it might be baby steps, depending on the hurts, etc....but take it easy on yourself and them and you'll do fine!

I am so glad you found this place, and may I say...let the journey begin!

    Shalom,

Is there someone else who you could have the books delivered to? A neighbor you trust? Or your brother maybe? Or even have them delivered to your workplace?

I had Crisis of Conscience delivered to my house, and my husband almost opened it. Now I have everything delivered to my sister's house, and pick up my stuff when I see her. She lives 5 hours away, but I feel much safer that way!
