God to me would be as refreshing as a cold beer on a summers day.

Today iam an atheist. Iam no longer a beliver in other peoples idea of god. Yet iam thirsty to find a god. As a newly converted athiest, my search will be my search.

Still i would value your imput . Is this place a good place to begin my search....will i be athiest, agnostic or beliver as i use critical thinking on this site.

If you are still looking for god you can not be an atheist - maybe agnostic, but not atheist.

If you're thirsty to find God, I think you'll find him.

If you're thirsty for what is true, then pace yourself.

    What the others said...

By the way, welcome to the board!!

If you're truly interested in finding out the truth - REAL truth - reality - about "god", then you would do well to research the history of RELIGION - that's ALL religions.

Also, research the history of the bible - NOT the history as stated in the bible, but the history of the bible.

Did you know, for example, that the bible is only around 3,500 years old??

Or that the lineage of Egyptian civilization, the stone circle at Stonehenge, the Sumerian civilization, the Minoans, the goddess temples of Malta, the cave paintings in southern France, the Australian aboriginal mythology, and many other ancient forms and totems of worship are older than the bible??

In fact, only Islam, Mormonism, and Scientology are YOUNGER than the bible - especially the New Testament part.

Hope this helps to put things into perspective...

Athiests don't generally look for a god---they have decided there is no god. Agnostics aren't so sure.

I don't think any of us can tell you where you will end up. I know where my critical thinking led me, but you? Hard to tell.

Maybe you don't need to worry about defining yourself and just enjoy the journey.

atheist - Definition [ey-thee-ist] (n .) Person who denies or disbelieves the existence of a supreme being or beings agnostic - Definition [ag-nos-tik] (n .) Person who believes that the existence of God is unknown and unknowable
