CO visit provides preview of April generation change!

  i thought the april wt's brazen generation doctrine change would barely get an official mention before nor after the two paragraphs that deal with it, but yesterday i went to the circuit overseer's visit and in a talk from a bethel outline, he specifically mentioned the change, and i quote..

  "the very very very NEWEST information we have available, from the april 15th 2010 watchtower!" ..reads the infamous paragraphs.. and then, "isn't that wonderful brothers and sisters? so now we understand that it means that brother russell's life overlapped with brother rutherford's who's life overlapped (he went through them all), so CLEARLY, this means the end is near."

  i looked around a little to see if anyone else seemed like they disagreed, but saw nothing but blank stares, not a mention of it after the meeting. i assume it'll be the same when the actual article comes around, wont change anything.

  to me the worst part is the "clearly this means the end is near" part. if anything, clearly this means the end is NOT near, since their lives can perpetually overlap with others! thats just a catch phrase they'll stick on at the end of ANY sentence or paragraph.

  The WT articles mentions "overlapping generations", as in 2.

  This guy apparently overlapped, what? 4, 5?

  Why not 100?

  I think, according to the JW's, that John wrote the Gospel named after himself last. Either that, or 1John, 2John, and 4John were written last. Whichever. The very newest information they have available from anyone "inspired" is that stuff.

  If they want to try to say that new information comes down through the WT magazine or anything the publishers of that put out, then they have to acknowledge that "spirit-directed" and "inspired" really mean the same thing.

  I am sticking with something I heard here from the ex-Bethelite if anyone speaks to me on such a ridiculous "new" light: "Don't get too attached to this change. It'll change again."

  June 15, 2010 WT "United in Love - AGM" Page 5, Jack Barr gives talk which says specifically TWO lives -

  "We do not know the exact length of 'this generation' but it includes these two groups whose lives overlap. Even though the anointed vary in age those in the two groups constituting the generation are contempoaries during part of the last days."

  Even so there are younger ones on the GB that have another 40 years in them before they have to ditch 1914!

  I think its a case of wanting to belive... Lets say that most were brought up on this stuff, thats a heavy weight to bear...

  The others though, who converted... ??? Who knows... Wanting dead loved to come back, live forever... Who knows what heart string the WT are pulling... And what people let themselves be kept for...

  WHOO-HOOOO... PROGRESS!!! I mean, at least they're now just staring... blankly. Previously when such melarkey was being handed out, you could look around and see folks enthusiastically nodding. "Yes, oh YES, Brother!!! That IS the "trooth! We SEE it now!!"

  Toward the end, it all became kinda Twilight Zone-ish for me. True, I didn't know yet that they were imposters, but I was certainly cognizant of the "red light/blue light" thing. You know what I mean: "Brothers, RED is TRUE. No, wait, we have some new light and now we know that BLUE is true. No, no, wait. PURPLE is true because both red AND blue were true. But, wait, recent new[er] light has revealed to us that in fact GREEN is true and so you should NOT be reading anything [particularly our previous publications] that says red or blue... or purple were true... because the TRUTH is that is really periwinkle, a color which no one but we, the "Faithful and Discreet Slave," can wear/be seen in. Because the TRUTH... is that the truth is whatever color we WANT it to be... at the time we want it to be... ummmm... it."

  My last couple of meetings, the speakers all sounded like Charlie Brown's "teacher": "Womp, wommm... womp, womp, womp, womm, wommmm..."
