I wasn't there in the Garden of Eden. If I had been maybe I wouldn't have eaten from that tree. Your issue has nothing to do with me. Why you gotta dent my pie pan?

Because all future pies made with that pie pan will have the same dent. Nevermind getting a new one.

Here is a good ole discussion on the topic.

I never fully wrapped my brain around this issue either. Why would a loving, all powerfull god need to make millions of people suffer to prove a point? Why involve people in your wager that have nothing to prove themselves, and who have no say in the matter?

In additon to that, now that the point is basically proven, the argument is that the end is being delayed to save more people. But people are born on this planet at a faster rate than the JWs could ever keep up with to preach to. So in that argument, the end will never come.

Plus, I think I figured one time that about every 4 weeks, between 6 and 7 million people die.

According to the etymology of the word "eden" it is a WALLED garden. It is enclosed.

Apparently the first couple were not allowed to freely roam the earth.

Could that "fruit tree" (symbolic term--not literal) have meant stepping outside of the Eden compound?

Did they step out of boundaries and find other tribes that were clothed and ornamented?

When they made an attempt to clothe themselves using plant materials....were they imitating something they had seen on the outside?

That's what I told the circuit overseer about 2 years ago : Let's admit Jesus' sacrifice was necessary to provide salvation to those who would exercise faith, and jehovah had to wait until then before stepping in to straighten things up. To put things in the worst case, He would have destroyed, say 200 million mecreants 2000 years ago. Now, just because He has to prove his point, He would have to destroy 7 billion people minus 7 M JWs...And Those ones keep quoting Peter 3 :9 'Jehovah is not slow respecting his promise but he is patient because he doesn't desire any to be destroyed but desires all to attain to repentance'. Everybody can see that this reasoning doesn't make sense, still they keep on repeating it like parrots. CO replied : there's no answer to that question.

:CO replied : there's no answer to that question.

CO was wrong. What he really meant was "there's no answer to that question that fits with JW beliefs, so don't ask it."

The garden of Eden story is a metaphor to tell you that you are screwed once you materialize and visit earth.

Or that the trip has a limited time span, and disasters will occur along the way.

Well, they say Jehovah could not just start over after Adam and Eve because Satan, the angels and the demons were looking on and what would they think. I say he should have killed them all so I had a good pie pan!
