New Age Therapies ??

Now that Im out of the org I want to try new things...and no nothing weird...lol..but I was thinking of trying new age treatments etc...does anyone have any advice?

Ummm... where to start... Crystals, Reiki, Core Energetics (I'm doing this next month--4 week series), yoga, TaiChi. You want more? If you are in a large city (is Victoria a large city? sorry, I have no education--LOL,) just start going to shops that cater to this audience and see if they have a bulletin board.

Drum circle, women's reading groups are good too.

Here's a few subjects to look into. I wouldn't call them New Age, but they are certainly not encouraged by JWs.

- Meditation

- Yoga/Tai Chi or similar program

- Therapy/Counselling

All these things can help you be more centred and focussed and perhaps deal with stress more effectively.

I have found personally that the best way to deal with stress is to just not give a d*mn! However, it took 15 years of therapy to get there.

I'm sure you'll get lots more (different and useful) suggestions. Mine are just kinda the basic, standard type of thing.

Yeah, drum circle. I'm kind of looking for a good one around here right now. I'm going to take yoga too finally, YAY! Always wanted to, never "could." Also have been exploring crystal use, chakras, etc.

Sens... it's SO much fun, and relaxing, and enlightening. I'm not sure how much of it I believe, or disbelieve really, but I've learned so much about myself. Go for it. Just pick whatever thing appeals to you and go for it! And enjoy!

thanks for the pointers...

I got some rose quartz crystal awhile back...but they were in a aromatherapy pack...I just got more of them, and the woman in the store said I had to 'cleanse' them...so I did...but i have no idea what to do with them now...lol

Not long ago before I left the org..I went to a nlp counsellor for work stress and he asked about my religion so i told him and he said ''are they ok with you coming here'' at the time i wasnt sure what he was getting at...so since then ive been somewhat confused as to what was ok and what wasnt...I think he he was getting at the point because he did reiki...but im not sure..not that it matters now...lol
