Is it possible for a sociopath to change? It is with Jehovah's spirit. Or?

Is it? with Jehovah's Spirit? What do you think?

    I'd like some opinions.

Thank you Danny for the link.
The reason I ask this question is this:
When I was still inside the Tower I used to think that God's Spirit"
could change anybody. Going from door to door weren't we looking
for people that wanted bible-study so they could change their lives?

I now realize the dangers involved. The "leaders" of the Jehovah Cult
are putting the flock in danger by withholding information from their "flock'.
IMO it is not possible; not with all the Spirit of Jehovah to turn a sociopath
around. What a sociopath will do is use you. They are smart enough to
manipulate you so that once they've gained your trust they'll use the Org
to do what they planned; abuse children, access to naive women, etc.

Once again I can see the cunning ways of the Tower.
They don't care if they put you in danger. Even if they had information
on a biblestudy they won't tell you.
I was giving study in the beginning of the seventies to a family
which I found out later was an incestious family.
The elder whom assigned me to this family, so I found out later, knew this,
but never told me. Later two of these family-members turned out to be
pedophiles and one even has all the characteristics of a sociopath.

Since I was the one assigned to give this family study, I was the one who
didn't do the job right. I got the blame.

Hence my above question. Was I the one to blame?

Can a sociopath change with study and Jehovah's Spirit?

I know this is a sick topic, but hell, it's a sick world.

The elder knew and not only didn't tell you, but more importantly, he didn't report the situation to the authorities. What a difference it would have made in the lives of those being abused if they had gotten the proper help from qualified professionals!

Instead the elders sent me there. I had an assistant in those days.
I took him with me to do the weekly study. He fell for the advances of
one of the girls in this family and had sex with her.
They DF'd him. My fault? A little later he wanted to come back.
He had to marry her first the elders said.
So he did. He was reinstated and a year later the marriage was over.

He remarried and is at this moment serving in the cong as a MS.

Great to see Jehovah's Spirit at work.

No. Not as a dub, anyway. Sociopaths generally find a rich pasture of naive suckers in the WTS.

I'm not sure what a sociopath is EXACTLY... If it is a mental illness due to chemical imbalances, I am sure with medication and treatment they can curb the symptoms, not sure if you can CURE or completely change a mental illness...

I think when Witnesses talk about changing people they mean the people who are alcoholics, or people in to drugs or immoral/wrong things. Then when those people find God they change to drop the alcohol or drugs/whatever and "clean up" their lives. Just my thoughts...

You have every right to be angry. You were not given the information you needed and then you were blamed for somethings that you were never responsible for.

My father was a sociopath. He used people to get his needs and desires met. Now my father was never a JW and my parents were separated before my mother got involved. But I know that years earlier he refused psychiatric help. And there was no way he would have changed for anything unless it met his needs first. Which isn't real change.

And this is my exact criticism of how the WTS deals with people who are a danger to people in the org.

BTW I think my step-father might fall into this categoty too. And he played the role of the good JW while he was studying and meanwhile the presiding overseer knew he was an active pedophile and theur solution was to keep him around and send his victims to other people (my aunt went to other family and I was sent to foster care and my sister was left there for him to prey on)

I agree with Avishai. My father was apparently a Sociopath, but also possibly he suffered PDDNOS.

He never abused us or anybody else physically, save a few spankings/switchings early on. His thing was POWER. He heard Rutherford actually speak and became a junior Rutherford. He was in JW's for about 60 years, always pushed them on others and became EVIL!!!!

And you are right: they are smart, clever & manipulative. They know how to keep out of "harms' way", but can deliver it to others!!!!
