    Unbelievable...

Matters presented were really disturbing and hurting..

Not that information presented in this book is new, but I didn't think it could be this bad...

Especially thins one.. A letter written by the society to All circuit and district overseers. (p.293)

Keep in mind that to be disfellowshipped, an apostate does not have to be a promoter of apostate views. As mentioned in paragraph two, page 17 of the august 1, 1980 watchtower, the word 'apostasy' comes from a Greek term that means 'a standing away from,' 'a falling away, defection,' 'rebellion, abandonment.' Therefore, if a baptized Christian abandons the teachings of Jehovah, as presented by the faithful and discreet slave, and persists in believing other doctrine despite Scriptural reproof, then he is apostatizing. Extended, kindly efforts should be put forth to readjust his thinking. However, if, after such extended efforts have been put forth to readjust thinking, he continues to believe the apostate ideas and rejects what has been provided through the 'slave class', then appropriate judical action should be taken.

I always felt horrible for leaving 'the truth'.. Thought I was a really foolish person for not believing the truth and disobeying Jehovah.

Now I am so glad I came to this board, and got to learn more about this religion...

I guess that's all i wanted to say.. heh.. just wanted to share this scary feeling I feel inside after reading the book...

Anywya, have a nice weekend everyone!

Feeling scared is the way they want you to feel and I know exactly how you must feel too.

I too have recently read CoC and thought it was amazing as well as disturbing....for me it clearly set out the clear differences between what actually goes on behind closed doors and what we are led to believe by the WTBTS.

For me it was it consolidated all my views in as much as they are 'just another' man made organisation.

THey are apostates themselves because there are many biblical rules that they refuse to obey despite their claim of being fully aligned with the apostolic church.

As for the FDS they have on numerous occasions admitted that they were wrong and came round to the views of the apostates but they are too arrogant to apologise to them, so there goes the christian spirit that marks them out from the rest of mankind

    Hello Lynne,

Not that information presented in this book is new, but I didn't think it could be this bad...

Yes! I was at Bethel during the 60's and 70's and watch the breadfast text comments battle back and forth for some time and never knew what it was about. Then I finally read Ray's bood and . My reaction was like yours, it was worse than I thought. Couldn't get OUT of the org fast enough.

    Recommend the book to everyone.

It's a great read that has helped many JW's come to grips with the facts about the apostate WTBTS/JW cult.

I dunno if i want to read in search of christian freedom..

I think I already had enough of JW.. don't know if I need more proof that this is NOT the truth...

but if anyone is having hard time leaving JW like me, reading crisis of conscience may open up the eye~
