does anyone else ever have these? I used to have horrible nightmares from the time i was maybe five until i was maybe thirteen that armageddon has come and i'm on jehovah's bad list. I had them at least three times a week initially, but gradually as i grew older they were less frequent and then they finally stopped altogether...or so i thought. last night i had one for the first time in at least seven or eight years and it was just as terrifying as it was when i was five. even though i dont believe in that any longer, it's left me with a bad taste in my mouth all day long.

    Hi

It's not surprising. We were fed a diet of this crap for many years.

I've always said that you can leave the Watchtower, but the Watchtower never really leaves you. It creates an impression in your mind; some people remain scared of it for the rest of their lives.

It affects us all differently. I have these crazy dreams sometimes. All mind games. Dispell the myth of Armageddon !

    Peace to you, sister.

I was never part of the WTBTS, but I do have a very active imagination. I've had Armageddon dreams (Remember the Cold War?), chasing dreams (My ex-husband figured prominently), flying dreams (those were nice), and falling dreams.

I once had an Armageddon daydream that cured me of that fear. The idea is, if you push past it, a fear can no longer hurt you. Kind of like someone with a fear of heights managing to take a trip in a glass elevator.

    I told the story here.

Oh, yes, a fire dream where my son was hopelessly trapped inside...

i totally forgot about this untill just now, but when i was a kid i was obsessed with nazis (remember the purple triangle movie? i watched that at least a thousand times), but i was convinced they still existed and actively hunted jw's, and i had recurring dreams that the nazis broke into our house at night and chased us all trying to put us in concentration camps. talk about overactive imagination, huh?

catholic people have been dominated with fire from hell, the j.ws.keep the organisation under control with armagheddon.I remember one sister, living in fear of the great day that is armagheddon. At one point of me life did't mind to dye before Armagheddon come. How silly I was. I am not part of that organisation any more, and I am free to serve my God.God is love,God is not a God of suffering. Now i am free of that false teaching, that can sadden not only me life but the life of many allredy soffering.

    Tink,

I have an armageddon dream about once a year. They started when I was 7 or 8. I am never on Jehovah's shit list, although I probably should be. Usually these dreams fascinate me as I watch the angel of death come forth. These dreams feel so real. When I wake up, I can't get over the feeling that there is something that I am supposed to do, something that I am missing.

I also tend to dream about the "great tribulation". I haven't had one in about a year but those always terrify me.

Hopefully the dreams will cease one day.

I used to have them pretty often...not so lately.

I never saw any death or destruction in my dream, I was too busy running around trying to grab all my naughty friends and hide them in caves...apparently we were told to get to the caves. I can't find certain people...and when I get to the cave, I find not everyone in there...it's really frustrating and I usually wake up crying because I can't save everyone...

Anyone want to Freud me? LOL

    Tink--

I wouldn't worry...I am sure it was just fluke that you had another dream...and take heart they are less frequent now. I guess it's just another reminder that no matter how long we are away you still can't ever forget what was said and done to us as JW's.

    Interesting question.

Try as I might, I can't remember ever having an "Armageddon dream." In fact, I can't remember ever having been afraid of the future. I have had a couple of "mortality dreams," including one recently...but nothing morbid.

Like joanna just asked: Anybody wanna Freud me?
