YESTERDAY'S "SPECIAL TALK"

Well I couldn't bring myself to go to the "Special Talk" that was being held at Copps Colesium yesterday, as I was busy plucking my eyebrows and watching the grass grow.......however, I wanted to know what was so important that they invited only "certain congregations", some who drove up to 3 hours to get there, so I was talking to a Witness who did make the trek. I asked if there was "New Light" on something.....perhaps they were going to apologize for screwing everybody over for the last 130 years. Then again, there's a better chance of Bin Laden converting to Judaism than that happening.

Anyhoo, you know what this "Special Talk" consisted of? Experiences from brothers in foreign lands. Yep, you read that right. Everyone was supposed to sacrifice Saturday afternoon to hear this bullshit. And you wanna hear something even more pathetic? These congregations that were unlucky enough priviledged to be invited were still expected to have their bookstudy Saturday morning, go out in Service and then make the trek to Hamilton to here this crapola. The Witness I spoke to was furious that they had "wasted an entire afternoon" going to this stupid thing. And this is a dedicated Witness I might add, so their reaction was somewhat suprising. They added that others in their Hall were also very angry that they had been going like mad since 8:00am that morning with their kids in tow. With the bookstudy, service and then the talk, they were exhausted and angry---not "refreshed".

So I would like to congratulate Bethel for boring the shit out of everyone and angering faithful Witnesses at the same time. When you start to piss off your most ardent supporters, it's only a matter of time before a good number of them snap. Keep up the good work.

Good god. I remember a "Special Talk" like that. Our congregation was once among the most special-est ones who were invited to listen to Brother TM Frederick Franz address the congregations in Montreal at the Velodrome at Parc Olympique. What a yawnfest. It was a complete waste of time. A lot of people figured it would have been something of great spiritual significance, but no. It was more like having him come to your house for coffee and tell his whole boring theocraptic life story, and not being able to kick his arse out of your house because you were about to go into a coma. And yes, Field Service was expected of everyone in attendance. We even did some Informal Witnessing on the Metro on the way there. We didn't do anything of the sort on the way back. I think some of us were paralyzed from the neck up as a result of that experience, especially after that omg-I've-never-heard-such-a-long-and-showy-display-of-one's-own-righteousness-in-my-life prayer of his.

Thanks for the memories. I'll be sharing them with a therapist in the morning!

Not that I'm aware of.......they were probably too busy drooling and slobbering from their morning Miracle Wheaties to be bothered coming up to see us Canucks.......and someone told me a couple of weeks ago that there are "no more anointed at Bethel in Canada" anymore. Seeing as Head Office has always said that "some" anointed would still be alive when "The End" came, I'm wondering how long it'll be before they change this doctrine too.......

Seems to be a ton of "special talks" and "special announcements" lately. Don't the rank and file realize that everytime they go to one of these "special" meetings, there is nothing special about them?

No. The fog around their mind is too thick.

Special talks are nothing more than recruitment

They are nothing more than letting the spiritually superior ones get some kind of mind masterbation from these stupid things. Then they run around relating their experience of how orgasmic the talk was. Ie, "I can't believe how good it was. These talks just get better and better. I feel so close to Jahoba now". It's like, give me what drugs you are taking before you go to these cause they are dull as dirt. I'd rather hump a houseplant.
