Anyone who remembered my earlier posting saying how I had texted my parents thanking them on my birthday for giving me life and telling them that I was happy here is part 2!

It is their wedding aniversary today - which some of you remember was more important than anything except the District Convention or the Memorial. At least that is how it was in my family.

Anyway my horrible pc keeps cutting out and I wanted to post a topic asking you guys what I should say in wishing them Happy Anniversary - it must be their 32nd.

So whilst I waited for the PC to reboot I texted anyway and this is what i said bearing in mind I only get so many letters per text:

"Hiya Mum and Dad, I hope its okay, I waited until the meeting would be over. Just wanted to wish you both a very happy anniversary and lots of love from me. All my love and thinking hapily of steak, mushrooms (we had a family tradition of us all having our fave meal and giving each other presents - a lot lile christmas) and Baileys."

    And within 5 minutes I got a reply !

I was so amazed - because I expected no reply at all, especially after I texted them on my 30th birthday a few days ago (discussed on another thread).

    My dad's reply

"Ta very much for both texts (yes and my birthday one yippeee) and your lovely card - we appreciated it very much. Love mum and dad"

I am so happy - that has to be the nicest response I have had in years and years. I know it means nothing but it means hurdles loads from me - they were nice to me - NOT ON URGENT FAMILY BUSINESS.

Anyway I wanted to share this!

Thank you chaps! Should I reply or just leave it a while? Its very new having that kind of warmth. So on the one hand I don't want it to go cold but neither do I want to wear it out if you know what I mean?

I really want to text back but I kind of sense it would not be acceptable? oh what to do!

My gut reaction is 'you know your parents best', others may have some more "thought through" help.

    Good luck with it!

It gets better! I can hardly type just now!

Whilst I was thinking of how I should respond my phone buzzed.

My mum sent me the first communication in 3 years and the second in 7 years. I'm so excited I coulod be sick - you cvan't know what this means to me! I wish I could swear!

The message at 10.41pm went - ohashit I am weeping now - "Thanks for your message. We went for a meal at lunch, although we went to see Riverdance recently to celebrate which dad enjoyed for the music and I enjoyed the dancing. Luv Dad&mum"

The way it is phrased its obvious my mum typed it - I cannot believe this is happening to me and this has to be the best thing in so many years. I can't say - I am so amazed and upset.

I owe this to the australian family on here whose daughter persisted with love with her parents.

I never ever dreamt my mummy would ever speak to me in anyway ever again. oh god
