    G'day all,

How's the weekend been treating you? Here on the eastern seaboard of Oz we've had some really hot weather - at least the suddenness of the hot spell made it seem all the hotter!

Another thing we saw this week was the rural roads around Bethel chocked once again with tourist coaches full of Bethel visitors who were taking advantage of the "privilege" of visiting the Australia Branch after the International Convention was over. All the visitors obediently displayed their badge cards - still! Anecdotal evidence indicates that door to door visits were also "on the up" in the Sydney region - perhaps spurred on by the Convention?? Some informed householders triumphantly said "no thanks" to their unwelcome callers.

Reminiscing on convention times brings us to this weekend's poll question:

When did you remove your convention badge card?

    1. As soon as I got through the exit doors.

    2. In the car on the way home.

    3. Never wore one!

    4. Obediently kept it on.

    5. I had a quick release clip to get faster removal.

    6. Covered it with my war medals.

    7. Stuck smileys over it.

    8. Hid it behind my Amway convention badge.

    9. 'Accidentally' dropped it.

    10. Gave it to my child to play with.

    11. Other (please detail)

So what did you do? We're looking forward to get your memories.

    Enjoy.

    Cheers, Ozzie

I never wore one. I was an "unbaptized" publisher, and they never bothered to issue me one. When years later they remembered me, I refused to wear the dammed thing.

Hi Ozzie, I'm just replying because of the # 77 .

I wore mine because they could always find me at the lost and found.

Why can't I remember all those things I did back then? Is it age or did I do a good job of putting it out of my mind? I can remember wearing one but have no idea when I took it off.

I used to swap mine with people when they weren't looking..... except I never just done it once, I would swap my newly aquired badge with someone else, then someone else. How many people read their own cards after they've put them on? I've still got some of the different name badges somewhere.

Oooh, that was a good one Gadget. I wish I had thought of it.

I always pinned in on my dress and then put the matching jacket on. It looked like I had no badge on but all I had to do is flip back my jacket if questioned.

Otheriwise it came off as soon as I got to the vehicle. No wearing it to the restaurant or hotel for me. I figured the identifying mark of a true Christian was not a piece of paper 2 x 3.

    1. As soon as I got through the exit doors.

i never wanted to be seen outside in the world with it on.

    4. Obediently kept it on

Then when I got in the door, I would transfer it to the dress for the next day. That way I would not loose it.

I rarely wore it. With babies it would scratch them so I stopped wearling it when I had kids

And when I was interpreting I would often catch my arm or hand on it and it would go flying

So I just stopped wearing them
