Let me make this very clear from the get go , I am neither for or against the use of marijuana . But it has just occurred to me that many of my life long friends have either had periods in there life where they have or continue to smoke it . My question to you on this lovely Friday night is this :

What if anything has your experience with pot taught you either about yourself or someone you know , was it a positive or negative infuence . Post yer feelings . I have always wanted to ask a diverse group of people these questions , just to see if my experience parallels yours .

I hate alcohol, the taste is terrible. I hate the ‘druggy’ life-style. But I love weed. I mean I love weed. I used to smoke the stuff pre-witness, and if they ever legalize the stuff I am headed to the store.

Weed makes you relaxed and the high is much different and superior to the beer buzz. Tension goes away, you are completely relaxed, honestly marijuana is almost therapeutic.

Like anything though you have to be careful. If I smoke weed it has to be on a day when I will be doing nothing else; primarily because nothing else is going to get done. Weed is good to smoke on a single selected day of the week and that day only. If you smoke it through out the week you run the risk of screwing up your life.

Long and heavy use will mess you up. For people who wanna smoke it, just like anything else.... use moderation and know when to quit. It'll get you in the long run.

I've never smoked it. But I've been around people who've smoked it for years and they get more crazy and bizarre with each puff. Memory and logic are nearly non-existent and I just lose my patience with trying to reason and deal with them.

    Nickey,

    First, you are gorgeous
. Second, you bring up some good points. Marijuana can mess you up. Its been 15 years since I last smoked it and I still think about it (that shows the drug has some power). I know people that were addicted to it and it will sap your motivation. Memory loss, lung damage all symptoms of prolonged use. But if you are going to do drugs, one day a week in moderation it is not bad.

An ex-b/f of mine introduced me to the stuff. I tried it but I didn't find it all that wonderful. Maybe I didn't have enough, or the times I took it I was already pretty relaxed.

The ex b/f was/is still a heavy user of it, takes it almost every day. It has messed him up, makes him paranoid and he can't remember things that have been said or done the day before. Being a heavy drinker doesn't help him either.

Since I've known people that can't sleep without it, can't act normal without it etc, etc, I am pretty careful with the stuff.

But then, I can't act normal without nicotine, so who am I to judge those that smoke MJ....

I used it infrequently for a few years when I got out..... I much prefer a beer. The only damage long term was short term memory loss.

I know a few heavy uses, and paranoid only just starts to describe them. For some it's ok, for others it's not worth it. For cancer patients

    it should be prescribed.

I first starting smoking pot when I was 17 or 18. I am now 41 and still smoke it. Pot has never kept me from getting or keeping a job. I have never had any problems with the law regarding my use of pot. I don't have memory problems, or health problems. Actually, I suffered for years with migraines and pot was the only thing that help without making me feel druged up.

I can hold conversations and work and no one ever knows whether I'm high or not. Most people don't even have a clue that I smoke, I don't look like your typical druggie. Even my husband and children don't know if I'm high because I'm always the same. The pot just makes me FEEL different, I don't act or look different. I have tons of energy and do something creative when I'm high. Such as redecorating or craft projects.

I currently do the bookkeeping for a car dealership and I am office manager of a tax office with 20 employees during tax season. No one that I work with has any idea, and would probably be shocked to find out.

I do know people that have went down hill fast when they starting using. But, I also would rather my children smoked pot than drink alcohol if they were going to use drugs.

Weird thing is I'm not a big drinker. Only a Cronona with my Mexican dinner, or I may have a drink if I'm out with friends. And I have never smoked ciggies.
