Passive Resistence ... 10 Step Program

Legalism: Over the last few years ex-JWs have discussed much about how to deal with the JWs legally, to stop slander, harassment, etc. ... and then somehow try to avoid being DA'd or DF'd. This can work, but it take some preplanning and careful strategy to implement ... and in the end, the ex-JW often still gets shunned.

Passive Resistence may be better: Essentially, this too requires some preplanning ... but the JWs can do nothing about it ... and it is far more annoying to them. Here are some ways to carry this out:

    1. Never say anything about your views, or comment to any JW about your feelings.

    2. Stop going to meetings gradually at first ... maybe over a 3 month period ... and then altogether. Never ever return for any reason at anytime, for any purpose.

    3. When called on the phone, be polite, and ask to be excused for a minute ... set the phone down and do not return. Make sure everyone is aware that a JW is listening so they will avoid making foolish comments.

    4. When the Elders stop by, answer the door, but don't offer to let them in ... ask to be excused for a minute ... and don't return to the door ... or better yet ... just don't answer it.

    5. If you are seen in public ... wave and smile, but keep driving, walking, or moving and do not approach the JWs.

    6. If you are confronted at the store ... stand there and listen nicely ... then ask to be excused ... and move on and then do not return to talk.

    7. If you get a letter in mail ... never open it. Mark it "Return to Sender, not at this address" but make no other comments. The statement seems to suggest that you no longer live there ... but all it really says is: Not at this address - for you could as easily mean not accepted at this address. Or state, "Not the Correct Address for this mailing."

    8. If you get a certified letter notice ... never pick it up from the post office. If you are not sure of the sender, the postmaster will allow you to see what it is ... then hand it back ... and walk away without a word. Sometimes the Society will have one of its lawyers send a certified letter as though it were from a lawfirm. If you see a strange envelop, either regular size, or a 9 x 12 file from a lawyer you do not know, especially if it is form New York ... you can note the name and hold off receiving the package. Call the Society using a phone card from a pay phone ... and ask for the name of the lawyer ... and if they put you through to him, then you klnow for a certainty it is a Society attorney ... hang up. And then never accept the certified letter or package.

    9. Never write letters, answer phone calls, or return email, or in anyway say anything to any JW about anything ... never acknowledge their existence ... do not return any materials. Do not return Elder manuals. Do not say or do anything that will allow any contact of any kind.

    10. If you are cornered where you cannot avoid, escape, or excuse yourself easily, then smile, be polite ... but constantly change the subject to light fluff ... How's the weather? What do you think of those Dodgers? Never under any circumstance discuss the religion or the activity of anyone ... and if asked why you are not at meetings anymore ... simply thank them for missing you and how it seems like only yesterday since you saw them ... and will again soon ... but you have to run for now ... and move on ... never commit, comment, or convey anything.

In time ... they will not only give up ... but they will forget - it will still hurt, and will be like being DF'd ... but, they will never have a leg to stand on in rejecting you ... they will never have any evidence on anything ... and in a sense, you will have beaten their system. .

Amazing, I used items 1,4, and 8 to good effect. "1. Never say anything about your views." I remember visiting a cousin and was asked why I was inactive. I said that I didn't want to discuss it, because I didn't want to stumble her. End of conversation. "4. When the elders stop by" When they stopped, they could see the Christmas lights through the window and hear the Christmas music blaring from my music system. I did not think it was a good time to answer the door. "8. Certified letter" I was home with my wife when the mail man brought the certified letter. I froze, like a deer in head lights. My wife had more presence of mind and asked if we had to sign for it, and he said no, we did not, so we didn't, of course. A month later we moved to another town for a new job opportunity. They never pursued the matter.

Or optionally quietly take not a "passive" but an "active" approach by mailing the following to as many JWs and JW Bible studies as you can. We do not have to take unwanted harassment and abuse idlely. Copies of the following and similar items have been mailed and emailed all over the internet and by mail since 1998 so no one will know "you" are the one mailing, emailing or leaving about still more copies, but believe me, when you pump a bunch of these red-hot babies into a congregation, there is an effect! The more you do so the more the effect!!

DEAR JEHOVAH'S WITNESSES AND PUBLIC: There are many nice Jehovah's Witnesses (JWs) but the top Governing Body of the Watchtower Society (WTS) leaders, and most local WTS elders cover up child molestation, let JW pedophiles go door-to-door, get at victims at get-togethers or Bible
    Studies,(
http://www.silentlambs.org or toll-free 1 877-WT-ABUSE), don't tell rank-and-file about being a Non-Governmental Organization in the UN 1991-2001 though preaching against the U.N., etc. This shows a handcuffed UK pedophile elder:http://news.bbc.co.uk/hi/english/uk/england/newsid_2123000/2123546.stm

And WTS leaks state that over 23,000 JW pedophiles are on file at WTS Bethel headquarters in Brooklyn, New York (USA), most unrevealed to police despite Romans 13:1. That at least one pedophile was on the Governing Body of the WTS in the 1980s if not now also is documented: http://www.jehovahs-witness.com/forum/thread.asp?id=5466&site=3 Convicted Ministerial Servant/Elder pedophiles include Gregory Blackstone at Hollis, New Hampshire; Larry Baker at Augusta, Maine; Tim Gardner at Richmond, Missouri; Manual Beliz at Othello, WA; others in France, Norway, Australia etc

WTS Awake and Watchtower magazines and elders say God opposes the UN but, until exposed, in 1991-2001 the WTS was secretly a formal UN associate not just to use the UN's library as proved if you read the Nov 22, 1998 Awake magazine and use Search at the top at jehovahs-witness.org with "UN" or "U.N." Besides, the UN does not even require a group to become an official associate group to get a card to use its library! After this was on the internet the official U.N. ties were cut but not all unofficial ties:
http://www.jehovahs-witness.com/forum/thread.asp?id=34436&site=3 Christ said families would be split by those doing right and those doing wrong but WTS has formal Judicial Committees destroying families via numerous formal renderings of disfellowshipment (severe shunning). 1 Cor 6:1 only says judge "trivial" things as in business, James 2:4-13 calls judging harmful, and Paul says the "majority" (2 Cor 2:6) followed his advice to shun a wrongdoer, meaning a Minority chose not to and yet he nowhere condemns them.

Acts 15:20 says abstain from blood but 1 Sam 14:32-5 says Saul's army ate unBLED meat to not starve and no verses show God not forgiving them. Christ says God also forgave David's eating temple holy bread and that God wants Mercy Not Sacrifice. (Mt 12) The May 22, 1994 Awake tells of 26 JW kids who died without transfusions, and by common sense in massive bleeding as in car wrecks blood expanders won't save lives
http://www.ajwrb.org. About 3 JWs die daily earthwide from the unscriptural policy! (Blood On The Altar by David Reed) Yet most normal identical twins transfuse whole blood to each other through a shared placenta and childrens' whole blood is sometimes found in mothers years after birth.

WTS says Christ was likely born about Oct 2, so why ignore counting back 9 months for normal conception or genetic-level birth means he was born in late December? Why insist Christmas is from the pagan Saturnalia when John 10:22-3 says Christ also celebrated the Festival of Dedication or Lights, i.e. Hannukah, which first began Dec 25 but has varied since because lunar-based? Job 1:3, 3:1-3 show Job's kids celebrated birthdays if you read all 3 verses to see day of birth is meant. At Luke 2 angels themselves celebrated Christ's birth. Santa is from Saint Nicholas, an actual red-robed Christian gift-giving elder of the Middle Ages, not a wizard or pagan god. The word Easter may as easily be from the Anglo-Saxon word eastern (Christianity came from East of England) as from the goddess Eastre, the eggs as likely from the Jewish passover egg as from paganry, common sense saying early Christians more likely using eggs and rabbits to symbolize the hope for new life by resurrection than as vesiges of pagan fertility or sex rites!

Halloween came from All Hallows (Holy Ones/Saints) Evening when parents had children dress as saints to encourage them to be good, the normally harmless pranks coming from Ireland where maybe or maybe not taken from pagans even as wedding rings, names of days, months, some Christian names in the Bible like Apollos and Jason also came from pagans. Why does the WTS call compromises holidays that attacked and replaced paganisms especially since Colossians 2:16 says let none judge you about a holiday or Sabbaths? WTS calls a cross a repugnant murder weapon but Paul said boast in it as a symbol of resurrection over death. (Ga 6:14, 1Cor 1:17-18) They say it was a stake but human remains and inscriptions show archaeologists the stauros was a cross not stake, Dr F Zugibe's research shows suffocation would be in minutes if on a stake but in hours if on outstretched cross per Lu 23:44 and Mat 27:45-6, and the word stauros can mean not just stake but cross.

Although almost only the United Pentecostals teach that Jesus is God Almighty (Jehovah) Himself, WTS says the Trinity is believing Father, Son, Spirit are one "identical" person and falsely say most all Protestant and Catholic churches teach that, even though the fact is that most all other Protestant and Catholic groups accept the trinity idea as being three totally different entities or persons forming one "Godship" (Ro 1:20), Son and Spirit sharing inherited age, power, knowledge from God just as an acorn may be only one day old but also have its genes inheriting its ancestral oak tree's age, capacity and information!

Members are told report on each other although the Bible condemns busy-bodying. Nor are regular JWs allowed to read Judicial Committee "sin files" on themselves, many not knowing they exist often with misinformation and kept at Brooklyn's Bethel headquarters even if destroyed locally after seven years. Page 232 in the Insight book shows a picture of the Pay Attention To Yourselves And All The Flock book that elders have but do not allow non-elders to read. Page 302 in the Daniel book and pages 88 and 651 in the Proclaimers book show photos of the Knights Templar swords and the cross-with-crown-and-wreath used by Masons who sometimes use "Theocratic Warfare" tactics to change members' personalities and fight real/imagined opposers (AID book, Insight book under "Lies"; Watchtower June 1, 1960, p 352) on early WTS literature. Not surprisingly with the pedophile and other scandals, many good JWs have also complained of visual and electronic spying and harassment, including physically! Some old WT books also have the winged sun god Ra on front covers - never a Christian symbol.

Many Jehovah's Witnesses staying JWs are cutting time and money given the WTS which is declared "apostate" by silentlambs.org for endangering children, the secret U.N. liason etc. Many exJWs meet for fun (
http://exjw.meetup.com/ ), get a newsletter from a fellowship united by love which is greater than forced same beliefs (Col 3:14, http://groups.yahoo.com/group/jahchristian/ ), join a church etc. Beware that in the wake of the pedophile scandals, failed end-time prophecies etc, most former JWs posting at http://www.jehovahs-witness.com/forum/thread.aspx?id=36020&site=3 believe fanatics in the WTS could possibly do something of an "Armageddon" style mentality. This was written out of love for JW families and friends and the public's kids - yours too! Please help silentlambs.org (1 877-WT-ABUSE) battle for the kids (and adults) by making and distributing more copies of this today!

    Amazing,

I've been out for over seven months and haven't seen hide nor hair of the elders. For those who are being pursued though, your suggestions sound like good advice.

This is really good, amazing. It actually even sounds like fun, and wish I could try it out and use it, but -- too late for me! I especially liked the "Return to Sender." That DOES work really good for lots of things. I've used that before, and you really do not need to even put a reason on it, I don't think, just "return to sender" is good enough.

LOL! @ scumrat! You guys really should send it to Letterman! He might even go for it!

I came to the conclusion that responding simply wasn't appropriate, indeed undignified for care of self - sincere questions have never been asked - they already have the answers and they don't really want yours - just the semblance of conversation for 'lovely' appearances.

The reason for contact is for the purpose of duty, control, or accusation - or a combination of these.

It's very good advice and should be carried to the enth degree.

my parents are putting a lot of pressure to me to come back to the Org., that is like a nightmare to me.

I attended during 10 months after being df, then I had to move to the States and the elders did not want to reinstate me. Now several months have passed. I guess that if I want to come back I will have to attend for many months again. darn it!

It may seem odd that I want to do this, I am much in peace right where I am now, but my parents are elderly people, I am their only daughter, and they wont listen to reasons. I would never forgive myself if I keep them in this pain. All they want is me to be reinstated. "A change of status", just that.

What I wonder is: can they disfellowship me for stopping the attendance immediately after my reinstatement? What could they do, apart from being a terrible nuisance?

    Hi Amazing,

I enjoyed your list, am doing some of it, and will implement some others. Thanks. The only problem I have with this approach is that I want to openly do stuff: wear red-white-&blue on 9/11 (but there's JWs at work); put up Halloween decorations (but there's JW neighbors).... you get the drift. If it were feasible, I'd move outta the area. I live in a moderate-size town and "can't swing a dead cat without hitting a JW!"

    Hi Guanash,

Glad to "meet" you. It seems to me that there were some JWs who were reinstated and then you never saw them at the meetings again. I don't know if the clever elders have devised new light to deal with that though.

While you never know what elders will do, especially in these days of secret letters and instructions, they can't disfellowship you for lack of zeal after you are reinstated. You will get no privileges at first, except for service. Just get reinstated, (work hard at it, be earnest) and after you are reinstated, just fade away slowly. I have a df'd son and I would be very happy if he got reinstated just to be with his extended family. (my wife and I see him all the time; I just think that his aunts and uncles in his life would be a help to him)

good luck, er i mean hope it goes well...........
