There already is a cancer cure. The book "Cancer- Why we're still dying to know the truth." By Philip Day. Shows how cancer works, how to aviod and cure it. One of the best books Ive ever read. The lack of viamin B17 in modern diets is a big break-thru.

Also expensive Chemo-therapy has been the standard treatement since 1950! {1950-2008} Some chemicals in Chemo- were developed from chemical weapons e.g Mustard Gas. This is a harsh and toxic treatment while billions of dollars of research get spent every year with little progress....could the cure be in our supermarket for a few dollars? Read the book!

    Rubbish!

And before you ask, NO I haven't read the book - but I've read many others books on so-called cancer cures and I've also heard about the so-called benefits of B17, Essiac tea, Kambucha, green tea, etc. I tried them ALL!!!!!

There are many good doctors out there who are genuinely interested in finding a cure for cancer and don't give a hoot about big Pharma, which is a multi-billion dollar industry. I've heard it all before and spent much money trying to cure myself with many so-called cancer cures and almost died in the process. Sure, chemo is dreadfully barbaric and poisons the system - but it's the best the medical profession has at the moment. However, with wonderful new breakthroughs in science, such as that above AND stem cell research, we are getting there.

No offence, but I have my suspicions about "cancer cure" books. The number of people who beat cancer using alternative therapies is minuscule - and it may not even be those therapies that does it!

    Found this on Quackwatch:

    Laetrile Spammers
    Facing $631,585 Penalty

    Stephen Barrett, M.D.

A federal magistrate has ordered Christian Brothers, of Whitestone, New York, and its president Jason Vale, to stop abusing America Online's network and trademark in an attempt to sell products. Court documents indicate that the company had unlawfully obtained mailing lists of the e-mail addresses of AOL members and used AOL's computer networks to send more than 20 million messages -- at times sending hundreds of thousands of messages per hour [1].

The company's product line includes apricot seeds, amygdalin, and a book and a videotape that promote them. Amygdalin is a cyanide-containing compound found in the seeds of apricots and several other fruits. Also marketed as laetrile or "Vitamin B17," it has been promoted as a cancer remedy for more than 40 years. However, it is neither safe nor effective and is not legal to market or import into in the United States [2].

My take on alternative medicine is varied. I think that, like traditional medicine, alternative medicine can and has cured SOME people----but certainly not all people. There are people who have been cured by the Essiac tea, or using the Gerson Therapy, the Breuss Cancer Cure, etc. and there are those who have died from trying the same thing. I think alot of it simply depends on the individual and their genes. Chemotherapy has certainly saved people, it's also killed people. A Witness friend of mine died last year after her Chemo treatment. The doctors had projected that she should have lived another 2 - 3 years. On the other hand, the Chemo save your life and I think we're all very glad about that. I was fortunate in that I did not suffer any side effects from Radiation, but I know that alot of people aren't as lucky.

Sure, chemo is dreadfully barbaric and poisons the system - but it's the best the medical profession has at the moment.

One thing I'm especially suspicious of Ian, is that when you look at all the medical and technelogical breakthroughs we've had in the past 50 years, it seems rather odd that they're STILL using chemo and radiation to treat cancer and have not been able to come up with something that works better. With the tens of billions of dollars gone into cancer research over the last 50 years and basically, they haven't come up with anything. And the pharmaceutical industry has virtually ignored the studies done with the drug dichloroacetate, which seems to kill most cancers. Because it can't be 'patented' as a cancer drug, and is cheap, they have no interest in doing studies, even though it could potentially save thousands of lives. http://www.wanderings.net/notebook/Main/CheapSafeDrugKillsMostCancers

However, with wonderful new breakthroughs in science, such as that above AND stem cell research, we are getting there.

I agree. I think stem cell research will open up doors we never thought possible.

    Hi Mary:

With the tens of billions of dollars gone into cancer research over the last 50 years and basically, they haven't come up with anything.

At one time I would have said governments and Pharma were hand in glove and, as you know, my suspicions about using chemo led me to try alternative therapies - which almost killed me. Only when I started to use mainstream treatment did I recover.

There are many research establishments coming up with new breakthroughs almost every week now and one such is vaccination therapy which targets the cancer and leaves the rest of the body alone, unlike chemo. I've already used one vaccination therapy which successfully put me into remission but I still had to have an allogeneic stem cell transplant for a potential cure. The point is, stem cell and genetic therapies are proving to work and the researchers don't need big Pharma. There's always going to be conspiracy theories but after what I've been through and experienced I'll put my hands in mainstream medicine.

That's not to say alternative therapies don't have their place - but I would suggest using them alongside traditional medicine rather than on their own.

Glad you're here to write about your own experiences!!

Mate, you should read this book it has hundreds of experiences in the back of people who have been cured. You may have heard about B17 but there is a cancer killing diet and many additional informative breakthroughs. Many think to beat cancer you just need to eat health foods. Vegetables etc. However this book explains that certain yeasts and bacteria are encourged by our Acidic and yeast diets, while cancer is discouraged by the alkaline diet recomended. The scientific research by PHD cancer specialists like Dr Krebbs and leaders at the Cancer centre in the U.S is amazing. The role of the Pancreas and the problems with high protein diets is informative. Believe THIS a medical scientist in Australia won Australian of the Year for his prventative cure for cervical cancer. Amazingly his theory regarding cancer is exactly what I had read in the book afew years ago! I know there is alot of crap cures out there and many of these people should be sued. It's easy to be discouraged. But this book is amazing in it's technical and scientific explianation. Why do people living in certain tribes NEVER get cancers? Many other non-related cancer books I have read, back up what this book has theorized. I love that this book does NOT at any time ask you to buy some "snake-oil" elixer. Do you want to know why ESSAIC tea and other things you mentioned don't work on thier own?? It gives practical advice. If your waiting for science to come up with a cure you are looking at another 10-15 years at least, if not more. My friend I strongly recommend this book for $35 it's worth a go.
